Prado was asking 11-12M for his extension. Too much so they decided to trade him. I love Prado but i'd definitely trade 1 year of him for 3 years of JUp. Also Brandon Drury (class A) is in the deal too.

I agree. I'm a huge Prado fan, and he's just a solid baseball player who I will hate to see in another uniform. However, I'm really high on Juan Francisco. I think he's the 3rd baseman of the future for us. He's got the sweetest lefty power swing I've seen in a while.
We have an awesome outfield now. Jay Hey, Upton, and Upton. Unbelievable. That is a lineup as scary as St. Louis's was last year. We can win a championship with this team now.
Ally will beat the crap out of Uga.

It's time to see if we can flip Juan or Johnson with another prospect or two for another 3B...
Or does it mean Chipper wants to come back for one more run? He said at the New York sports writers dinner that he was feeling an itch already. I'd take him for 80 or so games next season.

Neither can hit left handed pitching i love the idea of upton being apart of the team but not for prado you never trade away someone as versatile as his we made that mistake when we traded omar infant to the marlins

I thought Prado was only asking for 7 mill? It's tough giving him up bc it's harder to get 3B production than OF. Win for each team if you ask me. I think Delgado will get better with experience.

No. Can barely play anywhere. Is a natural Catcher but has been playing LF. Pretty bad defensively but MAJOR power upside.

its a move, idk if i would call it a splash. The braves have always been good at making roster adjustments in order to compete with teams with more money .... the same could be said for here.
Don't get wrong, its a good move and i like it. But your never going to see the bravos go out and get a big time bat unless we get a new owner. As of right now we are just one file in a huge desk drawer, and the only thing the conglomerate that owns us cares about is making a profit at the end of the day.
I will always be a diehard braves fan but i wish Ted would have never sold the franchise. Even though I'm not a falcons fan i would love Arthur Blank or someone like him to purchase the team .... someone who cares about the results on the field.

Dback fans are furious on the radio. Johnson's bat replaces prado's hr and RBI. Upton replaces choppers numbers outside of the avg. braves kept Tehran and gilmartin. Huge win in the trade for braves.

Ok i get it we all love Prado, but he is 30. And in his finally year. Upton gives is the best outfield in baseball. And J Upton is 25. Just hitting his prime. And we didn't give up a ton.
