  • Who has enough computer and social networking skills to make it happen.

I truely believe Bobby can rally the fan base. We could get him at a bargain price. He would cure old wounds with players from the glory days and they would come back to the University for games and maybe money, to support him. He could easily coach for 5-6 years and maybe more. His personality is perfect for this. He would be energetic, outgoing, and a media darling. He can still recruit and with our facilities he could knock it out of the park

Students would wear those white wigs all over the place at games and on campus.
Let's face it. Two older coaches saved our football team after 1-11 fat Brad. Well this old dog Bobby C can still hunt and coach

  • I agree 100%! Come back Bobby!!!!!

I agree 110%. At this point he is obviously our best option, and honestly our only option other than going after a coach with a very short resume.

  • I would love to have him but why would he leave CofC right now? That's a heck of a gig, and he has a lot of solid young talent.

  • Sorry, but that ship has sailed. I love Bobby, but He just turned 64 this summer. There is no way he could
take us to where we want to go.

The only way we make it back to the glory years is to pay a big time coach who is not looking for a retirement
home or get lucky with an up and comer, which is what we tried with Horn.

We need to look for a McGuire type. Successful coach in his late 40's early 50's chip on his shoulders Something to prove

How has that ship sailed. Spurrier came here when he was 60, and look how that turned out.

To be honest, who else can we go get. Our only options are a young coach where you don't k now what you're getting or an experienced coach with a few years left. I'd rather have Cremins for 5 years than some nobody guy like Horn who will be in over his head.

Because we are home for him! And yes, he flip floped. But you know he has to relive that moment everyday of his life. He will always be a Gamecock

Why did Roy Williams leave Kansas? They had it going, great results, pay?

You're kidding yourself if you think this administration is going to spring for big bucks for a name coach. And the fanbase will revolt even more at another young coach after Horn, which is wrong but I can't blame them .

Bobby's three years younger than Spurrier and the same age as Lou when we hired him. Most importantly he recruits as hard as he did when he was 25.

    But we'll never do it.

Sorry have to disagree. We have already tried both of your scenarious in our last 2 coaches and this is where we are. A up and comer will leave for another job with more prestige if he does turn us around. And honestly our Bball team is a "dumpster fire".( like that one). Bobby could give us a solid 5 years and change the program like Lou, and then pass the torch, like Lou. How old was Lou when we hired him. How old is Krychevski(ouch spelling). How bout the guy at San Diego St. who was the old Michigan coach, who had S.D st. a 2 seed last year.

That's the reason for the Website. Give it legs and a forum. It will be front and center and hyman and BOT will have to take notice. It will take a grass roots effort from alumni to make it happen.

  • 99% agree, even JC( who is the ultimate approval). who can make it happen??

Duck can you make it happen

    crowclub

  • For those that disagree with me. 60 is whole lot different than 64 actually 65 before he coaches his first game.
And recruiting for a Southern Conference team is not exactly competing with the Dukes, UNC , KY etc. . In the Southern you know you aren't going to get the kind of player that will go to the big schools nor will you need
that kind to win your conference. Sure you can pull the occasional upset but CoC is not going to have a winning
record if they played against SEC, ACC, etc. on a nightly basis.
Like I said I love Bobby and if he WAS even 60 I would say heck yeah but I just feel as if he would not have enough
time to BUILD a Program that would last after he left. LOU couldn't do it and SOS has been here 7 SEVEN years
and it took him 6 years to see more than average success.

I'm sorry but I just can't see where it is a long term solution.

McGee was actually on board, it was the BOT that nixed it.

That was 20 years ago? I'd rather look weak to the few people outside of the USC fanbase that remember that that hire another no name, unproven coach.
