"Remember whose side you're on, regardless of the outcome."
Thanks to BW and Mom for being part of the Gamecock family. "Jesus and Momma always loved me.........." Brison is fortunate to have such an advoate Prayers to you both!
Checked out the thread where the comments were made. No one I was surprised to see make the statements. And there were several who called them out then and there about using the word thug to describe any and every rule break. Don't sweat it mom...especially on here. Brison is a Gamecock and we're happy to have him.
I'd like to see JC and the guys pin this to the top of the board as an example for everyone to see regarding the juvenile behavior around here and the effect it has....and maybe even re-establish some of the rules along with stated consequences for future actions.
I love the people trying to do some major backtracking in this thread. I'm glad Tonya made the post because it ties that human element to the situation. That said, you could probably drive yourself crazy reading a lot of the crap spewed on the internet. Hopefully you won't let the negative posts affect you personally. The same people who freaked out about Brison's situation were likely the ones who called for our entire coaching staff to be fired after the two losses this season and the ones who have never stepped foot in a USC classroom.
We have a lot of reactionary, bandwagon fans, and, unfortunately, their $10 allows them the same posting privileges as the true, most knowledgeable fans. The best question in all of this is why in the HELL did the athletic department release that news. It's completely ridiculous for that to have happened. This is a situation that could have easily been handled internally, and we wouldn't have a need for this thread.
Anyway, like others have touched on, please try to remember that the message board posters are a very small, albeit visible, minority of the fan base, and there are a bunch of USC fans who strongly support Brison and the rest of the team. It sounds like we can all be confident this was a one time mistake and nothing that should cause any concern for the future. Tell Brison to keep his head held high and to be ready to kick some ass come spring practice!
Thanks everyone for the positive support...Believe me I don't break that easily over something as simple for the negative words that were spoken..The only word that really had me angry is the word "thug"...Stereotyping someone whom they don't know on a personal level!!! We are good..Wish some would understand the words hurt my son..and when he hurt I feel the same pain..We do serve an awesome God who is protecting my son especially with him being away from home...
Mrs. Allen, thank you so much for posting that. I hope in the future it causes some would-be rush to judgment criticizers to realize that what they post on a message board can be very hurtful to a young man who plays for our Gamecocks. God bless you and Brison and your family. I'm looking forward to watching him do lots of good things on the gridiron down the road.
Thanks for being a great mother and I pray you and you family will have peace over this. Be assured many of us truely believe in our players and want only the best for them.
Everyone has their personal favorite freshmen & he & kelcy were 2 of mine. The fact EJ & staff decided he was so valuable not to RS as a FRESHMAN after missing 7+ games....says alot about not only his potential, but his intelligence, character & talent. He is going to be a great Gamecock.
As for the childish comments bashing his.....dozing off in class....give me a break! How juvenile, & anyone who did such negative posting should feel just that...juvenile.
Thank you Brison & Mom, for choosing to bring your talents to THE University of South Carolina!
