Been sitting on that one awhile haven't you? I had to upvote that one. rockon

  • I'm glad to see his speed at 4.58. When his name first appeared on the board I googled his name and saw his speed listed at 5.24 and 5.0

    Spurrier...I appreciate him plenty

  • That is a huge shuttle if remotely accurate.

Lot of schools looking at making him a camp offer.

  • Love his film. Kid plays ball.

  • That hit on the kickoff was nasty!

  • Have coached before and this still amazes me that this kid isn't higher rated or regarded. Don't get me wrong, that doesn't make or break a player in my opinion, but watching this kid he can play on the line (won't do this in college but can do it in hs), play as a true spur, drop in space, etc. The thing that jumped out to me though was watching people go backwards when he hits 'em!

  • I hope GA tells him, "we're not taking any more spurs, you're not taking any more visits".

  • 280 power clean is damn impressive, especially for a guy that size. I have a good feeling about this guy.

  • This guy and Rolin were the two most impressive to me. I am jacked about this commitment. I am with some of you, I think he is going to be offered by a LOT more schools before signing day.

Seems that the recruiting game has become one of underrating prospects to promote an image
of superiority in analysis, and to CYA against high rated prospects that turn out to be a bust.

  • Impressed by his highlights. Kid shows up to the ball with bad intentions. Looks taylormade for our spur position.

  • "My commitment is a good commitment," Camara said. "It's going to take a pretty good school to change my mind. I will probably take some visits and go to some camps, though. I'm going to talk with Coach Mangus about that in a couple days."

Sorry kid, you're already "committed" to a "pretty good school", maybe our coaches ought to reconsider their commitment to not recruit any more spurs.

agreed, now shut it down or don't commit if you're not ready. Sounds like he plans to look around some more. Why commit if you're still keeping your options open?

  • Hmmmmmmm. Jacksonville State and Western Kentucky? Not exactly a stellar offer list.

Thought the same, but honestly have you watched his tape? He does look like a great fit for our spur. Honestly I this we have found a niche, with some of our approach to hybrids, the spur, the de/dl hybrids like Melvin or Norwood swinging OLB to DE. Lets us get talent that others disregard and we have a system that can take advantage of it.

I'm sure the knock on the kid is he's too slow to be a traditional safety or too small to be an SEC OLB, but seems he's a perfect fit for the spur to me. Heck, may never play a snap but I think GA has earned our faith.

Its a catch 22, if a school tries that and the prospect has offers from Bama, Texas, ND, USC, ...etc. its influences those doing the analysis and the rating.

I once had a Nikon Camara, I love to take a photograph.

Mike Davis flipped to us after being committed to the Gators. It happens in recruiting every year.

Things happen that can't be forseen sometimes and these kids are doing what they believe is best for them and their futue. Have to remember these kids are making life changing decisions (these are not easy decisions by any means).

It will be a lot harder for him to commit somewhere else now that he has given us his word as opposed to him not being committed somewhere and deciding to go somewhere else. Staff is trying to lock him up early for this reason (as he has told Mangus that he will continue to visit other schools). He is being up front and honest with the staff.

Where things stand right now he is very comfortable with South Carolina and felt good enough to commit. Have to remember our staff wanted him to commit this early so there was a lil pressure from them to get him to commit.

Unforseen things happen in recruiting - his mom may suddenly get sick and he choose to stay close to home to play ball so he can be near her if anything happes - who knows.

P.S. We are actively recruiting kids that are committed to other schools (Tramel Terry and Korn Wiggins are two off the top of my head). Korn Wiggins being one that we have a good chance to flip his commitment from UNC.

Have to remember staff's get kids to commit early cuz it is generally harder for a kid to commit somewhere else cuz he feels like he has already given his word to someone else. They know the recruiting game and all of the lil mind games that is appart of it. As long as Camara is upfront and honest with the staff then you it is hard to have a problem with it - the staff knows what they are getting from him when they took the commitment.
