Boyd's World has the latest update this morning with us #7 in RPI. Mind you it's not official but I like this dude's material.

So, the number 1/2 team in the country is on the bubble for being a national seed because of this RPI bullish!t.
Apparently this RPI crap is the be all and end all when it comes to determining the seeds, at least if you take this
article to heart.

If we're not a national seed , then the RPI is clearly the ultimate litmus test for the NCAA, regardless of what they say publicly.

I used Warren Nolan when writing the story, which updates after each game concludes. I wrote the story based on where the Gamecocks were at 7:40 p.m. As of 12:10 tonight, they're up to No. 8. I included the screen grab with the timestamps.

The official RPIs won't come out until Monday, I think.

For all the football playoff proponents out there....this sort of stuff happens in basketball too....anywhere human judgment is allowed and reputations count

I have novel idea... let's see if we can actually win the SEC Tournament for a change and prove ourselves worthy of a national seed.

This is not a shot at Whittle and I know he is speaking based on RPI and what the committee uses to make their selections. But, Anyone who truly believes the ACC is a more superior conference than the SEC in college baseball really just does not know much about college baseball. I watch a ton of college baseball and follow it pretty closely and there is just no way that I can be forced to believe that. Call me a homer if you want but id if we lose out to a top 8 seed and end up having to go to NCST for a super i'd be just fine with that because i'd really like our chances going back to Omaha.

The only reason the ACC has a good RPI is because Florida played Miami and FSU and Georgia played Clemson plus us! I don't know if any other SEC teams played ACC teams?
