Just said Amaker was the top choice and Tubby Smith is a major player. Amaker isnt leaving Harvard and Smith is checking around with local guys about upcoming talent in the state. No leader though.

In comparison to Martin, Groce or Marshall, Smith would be an underwhelming, re-tread hire.

Agree. He would bring stability and make it a more attractive job the next time around. That being said out of the names we're hearing Martin is tops on my board by a big margin.

Tubby Smith and Amaker = FAIL imo. I would have loved to had Tubby 10 years ago but come on. The dude is on the down side of his career.

Well Tubby did get Minnesota to the NIT and they're playing damn good basketball right now. Its hard to get to the big dance when you're in the state of Minnesota and you're in the big 10, which happens to be the best basketball conference this year.

The more I think about it, the more I conclude that it would be a mistake to not hire Gregg Marshall. I would like to know why that hire has not happened. Hyman would have to convince me that there are very good reasons why Marshall would not get the job.
