Coaching changes will be numerous this off-season

  • Here are the ones that we know are open:

    Ohio State
    UNC
    Kansas
    Ole Miss
    Memphis
    UAB
    Illinois
    Arizona State
    Penn State

There will be others that come open as well: Maybe UCLA or Oregon State and a few others

Some of these will draw big names into the fray but some of the jobs like UAB and Memphis may cause a high level coord. to make a move. Who might make a move?

  • Hard to fire UCLA coach bc he won his division. Just saying.

  • In addition the San Diego Chargers job probably came open tonight after Timmy T dropped the Chargers who have now lost six in a row. Tedford is a San Diego guy with close ties to the ownership group. Look for him to have his name in that job thus possibly opening up Cal as well.

Maybe but they are only going because Southern Cal is not able to go. They are 6-6 and coming off a 50-0 loss to SC. They are a pretty bad football team. Heck they lost 48-12 to Arizona who didn't even let their coach finish the season.

  • I'm sure Dabo is on the short list all of them! You know he's a great coach!

  • When did Kansas come open? I thought Turner Gill just started there last year, didn't he?

I'm quite sure he will tell recruits that he turned all these jobs down to stay at Klempsin. He's pulled B.S. stunts like this before with recruiting....

Not trying to get ahead of things regarding our need for a coach in the next few years after Spurrier decides to retire, but I hope James Franklin stays put at Vandy and he's ripe for the plucking...

The guy is headed for bigger and better things, and Columbia would be a great place to settle for 15-20 years...My business partner in Gatlinberg is a huge Vandy booster, and he raves how much he has done with that program in less than a year...He's proven he can coach in his first year, has there best recruiting class already commited, and will be getting an official visit from the top QB in the land from Indiana..

We need to get an eye on this coach.

  • Gill got the ax today. It's amazing that they went across the country to get this guy after Mangino tried to destroy their reputation and only gave him 2 years. The record was bad, but he wasn't even given a chance to coach guys for 4 years.

  • I just hope we can keep our staff in tact. They seem to work great together.

  • many outside the state of SC agree on one thing... in differing ways for different reasons Dabo is a jerk, Steve is a jerk. maybe so but I know this when SS was elsewhere I was one of many who would be glad if he would bring his skills to SC and be our jerk. likewise should CU at some point send Dabo packing I would welcome him to pull a tommy west/brad scott type switcharoo and bring his recruiting skills to Steve's staff at SC and be SS's assistant jerk.

I appreciate where you're coming from as far as recruiting, but I in no way, shape, or form want him associated with our football program.

I see your logic get daboo to come here and do what fat brad has been doing for years and negatively recruit and bad mouth the school he use to be a head coach at. But one thing we are not clemsux and don't need to sink that low to recruit. IMO

The chargers are getting what they deserve after firing Schottenhimer (sp). That was the dumbest decision in recent memory.

  • Dabo is doing enough to help our program as the HC at Clemson, we don't need him on USC's payroll too, imo.

should such a turn of events occur Dabo might have harsh feelings and bad mouth
CU however pls remember Brad Scott is far from the originator of this transition. It has occured multiplean timesand in both directions. Tommy West did it both ways, first from CU to SC and then from SC to CU and to my knowlege he had not ill will either time vs either institution. He did a good job at CU followed by a promotion to SC in which he did an excellent job which in part led him to a promotion at CU and for which in my opinion he again did solid work.
