Conference realignment

  • How about this...

Throw all the BCS conferences teams in a pot and have a fantasy draft to determine conference affiliation.

Perhaps allow conferences to have two 'keeper' picks.

Who's the # 1 pick. What round would we go,and to what conference?

Sounds like it has potential as a message board game.

  • Where would we rank as far as the value of the program? I'd say mid 20's?

Good question, and that's where I'd probably put us. My question is how far would schools like Duke fall? I mean, basketball wise they would be coveted, but not in much else.

  • How many conferences? If you had keepers and took them off the board, we'd go pretty highly, imo.

With keepers, we could be a top ten pick. Who'd the SEC keep? Bama and.....

TDP just said that 80% of the revenue from ACC's TV deal was from football. So I'd guess they'd fall pretty far... unless you're playing keepers of course.

I think Slive may get them a round or two earlier than projected. Imagine Duke and Kentucky as division rivals in BBall.

Tough question. Either Florida or LSU. I would assume Florida to start out with balance East/West.

  • Agreed on Florida. How about this.... would Notre Dame be the #1 pick?

  • After the keepers? I would think Notre Dame or LSU/Florida would be #1. I can't think of another school that wouldn't be kept that could warrant that.

  • How about the last pick?

    Iowa St?
    Minnesota?
    Washington St.?

  • Depends on the last pick...If there are only - say - 64 teams in these Super Conferences, it would be a team a good bit better than any of those.

If it's every FBS school (including your three)...ugh. Somebody that sucks somethin' fierce at football and doesn't add much in basketball either. I'd say that disqualifies Minnesota. They are at least a respectable BB team against good current competition.

Wazzou is right there, though. I still think they're more valuable than Boise St, though.
