I saw it from the University student government twitter account
Thanks. The new system really sucks. I hope they fix it for next year.
Heck, last week I got up at 5am friday to make it down for a 9am alumni meeting. Then turned around, came home. And did the same thing again Saturday morning for the game/tailgate. Saturday evening I was toast, but I was there.
Heck, I'm up at 5:30 everyday to work out before work anyway.
I don't get it one bit. There is no reason. get your butt there. take your power nap later if you gotta party or whatever later.
It will all be gone too soon. Then when your older possibly moved away you'll regret not taking full advantage of what's there right now!
''fair is not getting them same as everybody else, fair is getting what you need to succeed."
If Spurrier notices those empty stands, our players do, too. I notice some of them scanning the section, looking for certain people I guess. Makes me sad.
doesn't explain them leaving early. last week the stadium was packed in the first quarter.....not so much in the 4th.
The student section should NEVER be the thinnest section in the stadium. Ever.
It's honestly a disgrace. When I was a student (03-07) we took it as our duty to show up and scream our heads off to help our team. It makes a difference. I don't know what's up with these kids but something has to be done.
Steve, go request a ticket and come sit with us Saturday. It will be epic
Actually just realized I forgot to claim mine. Just got one for me and the GF on demand. So 3998 to go
Guess they just want to party, I don't know.
Do a give-away after the Alma mater is sung just for the students. It's got to be something good though.....I don't know; it is sad. I just feel like they get bored and want to go party. The thing is, they release these tickets but then the next group that lines up to get them end up leaving too.
I have a friend who tailgates with two current students, they go into the game, get scanned, then they turn right around to get points and leave back to tailgate... Pathetic... They need to scan tickets when they leave so they wouldnt get all points or only some the longer you stay
Seems to me that there are two different issues:
1. Students not showing up
I blame this new season ticket thing. Students get them with their priority points for the whole season whether or not they intend to go to all of the games. They get them just so they can go to the big games. I hope the system punishes them for non use of the tickets. Letting them wait until two days before the game to "turn them back in" doesn't seem fair either.
2. Students leaving early
I blame this on the upped security measures preventing them from sneaking in alcohol. The students just can't make it the full game without more sauce. I'm not agreeing our disagreeing with the policy...just making an observation.
The real issue is people leaving early. Almost every game has been 90+ percent full.
"You’re either a block-gobbler, a farmer, or you’re a damn hunter and playmaker."
Nope. The end zone corners have been empty all year, never used to be that way. Students are now just scanning their tix and leaving. Time to get rid of wristbands, participation points and all of that garbage. Whoever stands in line shall be given a ticket, just like it used to be.
Dont a lot of kids skip Monday and Tuesday classes and go home for a week at Thanksgiving? I know that was the norm when I was there. If so, they're not even going to be on campus.
How bout we get Ray to say NO to any KICK OFF before 3:30 at the earliest.Night games only from August till November and then 3;30 is OK.
Best suggestion I've seen.
Ray doesn't have any say in when the games kickoff. Perhaps that is part of the problem, people not understanding that when the networks says you kickoff at this time, that is the end of it. We don't get to say, "well we'd rather play at 4:41 and 32 seconds".
This is the worst EVER.
I was at USC from 96-00. You could run laps in the student section back then during certain games in the 98-99 years where we went 1-21. Obvious difference being that we have a very good team now.
get them out of the endzone....and move the Student section to the two end sections in the upper deck.
Open the entire endzone section to folks who want to buy season tickets, or, the three pack games (garnet and black, (or both)).
Fill it with loyal, willing fans.
It's very sad. An earlier comment said something about "If we would win the east more..."
Truly, the mentality changes every year, doesn't it??
Something like this:
If we could only a game or two...................I would attend and support the team.
If we could only beat Clemson...................I would attend and support the team.
If we could only win a game in the SEC..... I would attend and support the team..
If we could only have a winning record.......I would attend and support the team.
If we could only beat Uga and Clem...... .....I would attend and support the team.
If we could only beat Uga, clem, Uf....... ......I would attend and support the team.
If we could only beat uga, clem, Uf and Ut...I would attend and support the team.
If we could only win ten games....................I wuld attend and support the team.
If we could ONLY win the EAST...................I would attend and support the team.
If the games were just played at night...........I would attend and support the team.
Amazingly, spoiled kids.
My son and his friends not only NEVER missed a home game but they made sure to attend ONE road game a year in their four years at 1801. (Yea, he was at the 16-15 win at UT!!) They considered it an honor and a priviilege to be there to support their fellow student athletes. Lastly, they have all gone to have wonderful starts to their young professional careers, to boot.
ELIMINATE The end zone student seating effective the beginning of 2013 season. Shove them up in the nosebleeds.

Haha! Well, at least you aren't trying to act like a SC fan anymore. It's about time you showed your true orange colors.
This is the type of mentality that is ruining our fan base. Thank god it's not the majority, or even close, but good God, man! For most of my life, if we just finished over .500, we were all having to change our drawers. Now, during the best 3yr stretch in our history, we have people constantly complaining about the QB, or the receivers, or the offense, or the defense, or crap like the post I quoted. I think we all need to look in the mirror before we start in too hard on the students.
Ally will beat the crap out of Uga.
