107.5 The Game@1075thegame
South Carolina's season opener with North Carolina will be a 6pm kickoff. http://es.pn/XQwMmM
Thursday night games are getting earlier and earlier............
Why isn't at 8. 6 is to early for a Thursday hell most people want be home from work yet. Seems like more people would watch at a later time.
Ok nvm read link after i posted. Didn't know it was a double header
Why so early? Boo! Going to be tough for people to get there from work.
If you want the ultimate, you've got to be willing to pay the ultimate price. It's not tragic to die doing what you love.
I took a half day. If you want to make it happen you will make it happen.
I will be there. I was more so talking about the tv audience.
So we officially are the first game of the Season. Sweet. 6pm is a bit of a drag because I'm coming in from Atlanta...just means I'll leave a little early and forego the tailgate. Will party in the Vista afterwards and watch the Ole Miss game...not a bad deal.
Oh yeah, f*$k the Tarholes. Never too early to start the hate.
IMAZ 08 IMFL 08 IMKY 11 IMNY 12 IMTX 13
Hell you know why because ESPN wants to show a second game at 9:00pm.More than likely a midwest or west coast game.
Ole Miss/Vandy is the 2nd game of the night
Nothing new but this sort of crap will wreck college football in the end. 6 and 9 just so they can have exclusivity. What about those financial supporters who built all these teams...completely forgotten. Thursday night is bad enough for attendance but 6 is a joke. Might as well join the MAC where theyve become used to playing in front of 500 fans. Sometimes on Tuesday nights the band outnumbers the attendance....and the worst part is these are typically good teams and matchups.

Take the day off like most people. Taking Thursday and Friday off.
Seriously girls? We have the first game of the college football season on national TV. Quit whining. Smh.
I understand what must be done, I would still prefer not to have to do it though. Hence the Booo! Less tailgate time and worse traffic too.
So what. Do we get extra points for that or something? Thursday night games, especially home games, are bush league. It's why you don't see big time programs sacrificing a home game by acquiescing to ESPN.
While this approach made sense in years past, the country knows who we are now and they'll be sick of hearing about Clowney leading into the season. We don't need a Thursday night game so people know who we are. We are beyond that, imo.
The rug really tied the room together, did it not?
Jesus. This really makes it difficult for out of towners. Obviously, ESPN is not concerned about that though. But somehow we're not the prime time game. I can't imagine there's a better game that night. Strange.
We've had pretty good crowds for our Thursday games. Not sellouts, but very lively and enthusiastic.
It makes me laugh to see folks complain about game times, no matter what they are. Nothing is going to suit everyone.
Pretty good crowds and that's against the likes of So Miss, etc. This is UNC in Columbia for this 1st time in decades and we have a 6 month window to prepare so no excuses are acceptable for a weak crowd..... except the students might have some BS reasoning.
Get there early (unlike most people) and traffic will be better. Tailgate later (early game), and miss the bulk of the traffic. So IMO it's more tailgating and better traffic.
I think the Tarholes will bring a good crowd.........Im hoping for a sellout....Gonna be a crunk Thursday!!!............
pros and cons....
pros...better for those traveling a few hours a chance to get back home and work Friday
cons...late August, that first half may be hot as hell.
Not only will the East side be half empty but the West will be70-80% and the part that really sucks is lack of a TV audience at 6PM on Thursday. If you want prospects to watch the game...OOPS. Practice still on at 6 and JV games goin strong
6:00 is tough on the work crowd, but good for the travelers driving home afterwards. Kinda thought we'd get the later, higher profile start time over Miss/Vandy! Ok though - all good trade offs for playing on Thursday.
I disagree. I think the Tarholes will bring more than most other visiting teams...I'm guessing 75,000.
WB is louder on Thursdays 75% full than it is Saturdays at capacity. I might take the whole week off if i have to. Thursday nights belong to Scar. Have we ever lost on Thursday under Spurrier?
I think its perfect day and time. Beat the crap out of the powderpuffs then chill out all weekend and relax, watch the UGA/Clemson game and hope they both lose.
