Listening to the David Glenn show right now. He's a big ACC guy. Good show but...they just asked the question....is Charlie Strong staying and Louisville and Larry Fedora turning UT a sign of the strength of ACC football??? Yeah, that's what it is. They both looked at the UT job and said, "You know...I know the SEC is a decent league but can I really leave the ACC right now?"
He went on to comment on ALL the ACC coaches that got looks for other jobs that decided to stay. That is a sign of the strength of a league. He specifically mentioned Abo and all of the "quiet interest" he got for other jobs. Dude, let it go. Maryland just left your league. FSU and Clemson will leave 5 minutes from now if ANYONE will have them.
Don't kid yourself into thinking that because Charlie Strong decided to be loyal that this is a sign that the ACC is any less of a grease fire.

Charlie is waiting so he can be a Gamecock once again
That's been some awfully damn quiet interest.
It's more of a relfection that: (1) Fedora is too new to his new job; (2) Charlie Strong is also relatively new, is looking for a better gig to leave for in the future, and just got a huge raise to stay where he is now comfortable; (3) Cutcliffe is safer at Dook than anywhere else IF he got some sniffs; (4) Dilbert received NO interest other than a casual phone inquiry to his agent as teams became more desperate or perhaps were looking for Dilbert's thoughts on Chad's potential; and (4), most importantly, Jimbo and all the other coaches, if any, realize that it is easier (and a clearer path to a BCS opportunity) to stay with an EZZ program where it is significantly easier to win.
You think Charlie may be the guy to take SOS place in 5+ years. Some talk about Whammy getting first shot. I just don't want to go through "name the next coach" thing 3-4 years before SOS leaves.
I like pictures like these!
"You’re either a block-gobbler, a farmer, or you’re a damn hunter and playmaker."
Listening to David Glenn was your first mistake. He is a nothing more then a shill for his beloved UNC and ACC. Someone should have called in and asked that moron why his beloved ACC went 1 for 6 this year against the SEC. I am sure the caller would never get that chance because it does not fit DG template of the ACC. Joe Ovies and Adam Gold who follow him are big ACC homers but they are a 1000x more objective about how bad that conference is then Glenn ever will be.

Never heard of the guy or his show, and after reading the above comment I will avoid that ignorance for sure. L'ville is a not even an Asheshe team yet and Fedora probably doesn't want to become the nomad part deaux... Leaving Chapel Hell for Vileville would be a tough call. The football atmosphere is better at UcheaT even with them being down, you're not second fiddle to the basketball team (well maybe right now to the lady Vols), on the flip side the talent around Chapel is much better.
34-17, 4-3, 7-1, 29-7, 34-13 ALL STOP!!! It's a GREAT TIME TO BE A GAMECOCK! Back 2 Back Natty's! DOMINATION By GAMECOCK NATION!
You are lucky then. He is located in Raleigh on 99.9 The Fan. He's your typical, demented, tar hole jackass who does all he can to belittle NC State while masquerading as a supporter of them because the ACC. He hates Carolina is extremely jealous of the SEC. He also writes for and publishes the ACC Sports Journal which is an ACC propaganda rag so you know why he has to spin that crappy conference as the greatest thing in the world. When the ACC collapses he will be out of his publishing job.

Your #4 is spot on as Charlie and Larry both know all they have to do is bring defense into the acc and be a winner.
Third and long will not coach in Columbia again...
ACC, Big East etc for exit fee is tens of millions of dollars.....fyi, the exit fee is 0..meaning no team would ever leave, unless an idiot
