some of the two sport guys some messages about getting serious about football?
Doesn't seem like he is too enthusiastic about Christian, Smith, and Carson missing spring practice unless they are contributing to the baseball team. And, his comments about getting Byrd getting ready to be a "full-time" WR make me think he wants their full commitment to the football program.
Bruce is probably an exception to the rule. First because he technically is a basketball player who came over to football, and second because he isn't likely to miss much if any of spring practice since basketball will likely be over. Not to mention that Bruce has had no problem being fully committed to both.
I think it's very important for all three of those guys to get reps this spring. If Smith wants to make a move, he needs to be there, IMO. With Christian likely on the two deep at CB along with d2d, Legree and Martin, he needs to be there too.
I'm thinking if Carson isn't around for spring practice, his days on the gridiron may be numbered. JMO there, tho.
Kwinton isn't going to make the baseball roster this spring. He has a great arm so if he decides to continue on a throwing program, I think he will eventually be able to play, but not this year. He'll be available for spring practice.
Christian and Carson are going to contribute this year in baseball, so I wouldn't expect to see them at spring practice.
who is d2d?
Ally will beat the crap out of Uga.
Spurrier probably wants the guys not contributing in their second sport to be fully engaged in their first sport. Bruce is contributing in both sports so he doesn't apply. But with byrd, exactly how productive has he been in track and field? and with the case of christian and smith, both guys are poised to crack the two deep for the fall, so you want those guys there to ensure development. With carson and the RB, unfortunately injuries have left him behind davis and wilds. The guy has the potential to start, but if he's not on the field to get better then what can you do?

Two grand boys, Two state championships. 5-peat USC
I do know that the injuries that Carson has faced have made him think more and more about his future with baseball.
You have apparently not kept up with the recent success that Byrd has had in track...
If a guy come here on a full-ride he needs to put his full attention to that. I really understand what yall say about all of them but I think we are deep enough to go with what we have.....heck a guy behind one of those guys may pick his game up if he saw movement there. I just wonder how many FLA, Bama, LSU and TAM guys divide their attention from away from football?...and Track??
I also know the dependence our basketball player must feel toward that but his scholy is now football* and his future is football and I'm just not sure where his presence leads our basketball team in the time he has left.
Mu undeerstanding is the rule is or was if you are playng football tho recruited for another sport that you are a football scholly player
Running backs don't really need spring practice so I'm not so worried about Carson. Would hate to see Christian miss time but its his life. Hope he helps us win a CWS
