A few teams I think would be a good fit:
i love ace, and hope he gets drafted high. However, if the panthers for some reason took him in the 2-4 rounds i would be very upset. Even though we do need a WR and a PR we have much more dire needs. On the other hand if we were somehow able to pick him up in the 6th or 7th round i would be elated for the panthers but disappointed for Ace.
Being a selfish panthers fan i would hate to see him go to the saints or bucs, i just hope wherever he goes he gets an opportunity to play next year.
Patriots... Replace Welker..Belickic always sells when the player is high and replaces with younger unproven talent. That is what has allowed the Pats to be on top for so long. Welker will have to leave to get the money he wants and Ace could fit the Bill. Get it....
I thought about the same thing and was going to list them at first. It would be a good organization to go to, but I don't like the Pats very much, nor Belichick.
Forever To Thee
patriots or saints
Any one with a special teams unit because that's where he'll be playing.
People said that about Wes Welker at one point too.
Ace's quickness and ability to change direction on a dime will enable him to get open in the NFL as a slot receiver. Guys like Ace have a place on the spread offenses that are beginning to permeate through the NFL.
Panthers and Falcons need a returner, and a quick slot guy. Texans need a WR desperately.
Ace is not too short. His skill set makes height irrelevant. He can get open against anyone. There is very few people who can cut like he does.
Ally will beat the crap out of Uga.
Not everyone can be compared to Wes Welker. He was special. Ace, or any other little guy that gets compared to him has nowhere near the numbers he did in college. Receiving or returning.
Welker's numbers were much better but he also played in the air raid offense. Time will tell, but I would posit that Ace could have put up some ridiculous numbers in a Mike Leach offense as well. My eyes tell me that Ace has a similar skill set to Welker -- but I'm nobody. NFL Scouts will have to figure that one out.
It was a better offense, but he also had 8 punt return touchdowns. I hope ace does well I just don't see him as much more than a return man for at least a couple years.
Good point -- and would mirror Welker's career as well. Welker only started to make an impact as WR in his 3rd year and didn't blow up until his 5th year in NE.
Texans had Trindon Holliday and released him midseason. I doubt they would go there.
Trindon Holliday isn't the WR Ace is... it's not even close. Their similarities end at being short and being return men.
Holliday maybe the fastest player in the NFL. Ace maybe a 4.5 guy.
I hope he comes to my Saints. Payton will utilize him properly and we need a punt returner to take the load off Sproles some.
Saints. Lance Moore is injury prone and he would thrive with all the screens and short routes the Saints run.
-Air Traffic Controller for the greatest Air Force in the world-
Patriots, Eagles, Saints
My Ravens could benefit so Boldin can play more outside. Jacoby Jones isn't a slot by any means. Jacoby can handle kick returns and Ace can handle punt returns.
Seriously though, Patriots and Cowboys could benefit greatly. They're pretty finesse offenses with wide open passing games. And, neither has a top notch punt returner.
He played in a offense that threw 60 times a game.... His 8 punt returns would be attainable if he stayed next year ACE has 4 now..
