Certainly this guy realizes that during his many years at USC he has accumulated many "skeletons in the closet" during his time here?
Dunlap, his supposed propensity for adult beverages, to why he left (good lord if that story gets out)...surely he is smart enough to tread lightly when recruiting in this state and specifically slinging mud in relation to USC?
Oh Brad, certainly you are not that stupid.
Where is this coming from?
Don't ever underestimate what a malcontent will do. I just think that the timing is way too perfect. He's finally able to recruit, and I think he's a drinkin' and a callin'. You take his resentment, and his new freedom, and it's a perfect storm. He's finally going to show Jr how it's done.
Ally will beat the crap out of Uga.
Exactly. Stupid move on his part.
Flobird.. Its best this info doesn't get out pm someone if you are interested. Its best for everyone to just move on and know that we are in a much better position without him.
It's time to just post the reason all of this went down with Lawing. It's ridiculous how everyone keeps trying to dance around it. We're all adults (at least age wise) here. Let's post the damn story, and then we can all just move on. What is anyone trying to accomplish by covering it up given the guy is gone now? There will be persistent questions about the matter until there's some definition provided.
Reading between the lines, it sounds like he was messing around on the side, with a woman (or women) other than his wife. If he was pushed out, I might imagine the woman could have worked for, or had ties to, USC (maybe the wife of another USC staffer type of situation??). From what I gathered, he and his wife separated but are still together, so maybe she also demanded they leave Columbia to further the reconciliation process in her mind.
I just can't think of another plausible scenario that everyone would try to bill as a "family situation" but completely refuse to disclose anything further. Regular marital struggles certainly aren't going to get you pushed out. And just a random affair shouldn't have any effect on your position as a USC football coach, so that would seem to suggest it was something beyond a completely random outside issue. So yeah, who wants to give some closure to this situation?

I have no facts. It is my speculation that, if KC Crosby is indeed claiming UF and clempsun as his leader now, that Lawing is behind that. I hope I'm wrong.
All the other stuff is from the Carlos Dunlap story, and the crap about Lawing recruiting Travian, which is common knowledge. He called Travian too much, which was a 2ndary violation, and Spurrier called it 'lazy recruiting', and took him off of the road for the most part. I don't think that stuff had much to do with him leaving, though. I think he just needed a fresh start.
Everyone should calm down. One recruit says something different than what he's been saying and now Lawing is "slinging mud".
Let it go when you are just speculating. This is ridiculous. Sound like a bunch of old women gossiping at bunko.

I think something of this nature may have played a part. I think there are several pieces to the story. I think that we are definitely better off now, though. Hopefully, Brad is better off now as well.
Lawing got drunk and made a pass at Jerri. Jk, but I have a feeling he did something along these lines.
Lawing did a lot of good here in his tenure at USC
I see absolutely no reason to try to paint him as a bad guy bc he is no longer here. Sometimes a fresh start is best and this was the case. But "theories" and "ideas" are how rumors start. I just dont seethe need to say anything other thank you for your service, best of luck the rest of your career unless we are playing you.
Honest question, but how do some of you people function in reality?
Some of you people come across as absolutely bizarre.

Been wondering that for years.
He was a pos after what I learned about him. The truth has been slightly hit on in this thread. F him as a person an f him as a coach if he is truly dirty recruiting us.
Steve Miller posts his assumptions about Lawing re. the recent Crosby reports, with absolutely nothing to indicate it is factual, and some people run with it.
Lol maybe he is maybe he isn't, but why don't you enlighten us. Or are you trying to protect your super duper top secret sources?
I block Steve miller so I got my info from someone else. I didn't really like lawing to begin with and now well read above.
Man, I can assure you I'm not the first one on here to post an opinion. That is what we all do; speculate. My bad if I offended you in some way, but it's not that big a deal.
Will you pm what happened?
You did not post it as if it was speculation. You said you were certain and positive it happened as you described. I believe that goes beyond speculation.
I hate to see someone accused of something with no facts to back it up.
No one is offended by your leaps of logic. Just a little weirded out by them.
