Boyd and the receivers are comparable ONLY IF they played against similar competition. TN has played against SEC pass defenses rated #1, 16, 26, and 28 nationally. Wannabe Relevant U (WRU) in the upstate has played against ACC defenses rated #6, 34, 78, and 69. But, since they like to spin everything, here are some total numbers through Oct 27 that make you go HMMMM!:
WRU Total Offense 3984 Yards
TN Total Offense 3648 Yards (336 yards less against better competition)
WRU Total Passing Yards 2541
TN Total Passing Yards 2378 (163 yards less against better competition)
WRU Avg Passing Yards/Game 317
TN Avg Passing Yards/Game 297 (20 less yards per game against better competition)
WRU Passes Completed 197
TN Passes Completed 179 (18 less against better competition)
WRU Yards Per Completion 12.90
TN Yards Per Completion 13.28 (.38 yards per catch more against better competition)
WRU Passing TD's 25
TN Passing TD's 21 (4 less against better competition)
You can make the argument that WRU has the better/similar QB's and WR's to TN, but I'm not buying it when you factor in the level of competition. There is a reason why the ACC is the worst football conference in the nation - piss poor competition from top to bottom. WRU is a member of the worst football conference in the nation. You do the math.
