"He's pretty good," Clowney said of Lewan. "Him and the guy from Tennessee (Antonio 'Tiny' Richardson), best (tackles) I went against."
"During that game, he and I both earned a respect for each other," Lewan said. "I went up to him after the game and told him, 'You're one of the best defensive ends I've ever played against.' He said, 'You're the best tackle I've ever played against.' So that's a great compliment to have, but none of this matters because we didn't win the damn game."
""I think I played really well," Lewan said after Tuesday's game. "Everyone told me he was unblockable one-on-one. Well today, I did my job for Michigan, but at the same time that doesn't matter. We didn't win the game. We weren't successful. I can be as happy as I want with how I played but at the end of the day, we didn't win the game."

Well... he sure as hell was unblockable one-on-one on one BIG play...

Like the UT game...that guy did a hell of a job except for one play and that one play killed both teams.
To be fair I don't think he was asked to block Clowey on that play. Looks to me like Michigan expected the pulling center to block Clowney. Not sure why they thought that was a good idea.

Clowney did an excellent job of keeping his cool during this game. He was smiling and having fun even while being held on most plays.
One HUGE play ! :-)
UM fans act like the Lewan guy played Clowney one on one all game and Clowney didn't do anything against him. Clowney put on 9 pounds since the last game which made him a little slower he was being doubled team. They were chipping him and blocking him a lot of the time. The tackle was holding also he was called for one but not the other 4 or 5 times he held clowney. Lewan played very well but I think a little to much credit is being given.
Lewan is a nice player looking at a first round paycheck and a LT starting spot his rookie year. Ups to him --- I'd give an arm to have a bona fide stud like him on our OL.
Not to mention the face mask calls.
The incredible thing to me is that clowney made the play, the way he did, when given the chance. A lesser player would have had the opportunity and may have made the tackle, but JC turned te ball game around with that. Really shows the beauty of football as a game of millimeters and microns.
Lewan was holding and grabbing hair and facemasks all day. And he was getting help with chips from everybody they could throw in there. And he and his boys STILL got posterized.
Dude just needs to STFU. He'll get plenty NFL money but yesterday he got posterized when the game was on the line.
