132-210 .628 Comp %, 2078 yards, 29 TD Passes
That's pretty darn good.
I think I read he was only playing the first half of the games because they were all blow outs. If so, wow.
350yards and 5 TD's per game? Sounds good, but how many stars does he have by his name? Southern Cal and Notre Dame haven't really made a move, and I'm not sure if ESPN has plans for a special, or coverage of his signing day. Also, if we are THAT interested, shouldn't we get commitments from all of his best friends from his high school team? I'm not sure if we're serious about this kid...
Does anyone know his INT count to date?
I think he will be a nice addition to the team. If history holds true he is 2 seasons from truly contributing, but I think he will be able to produce given the opportunity.
I would be remiss if I did not say I wish we had a A. Luck clone coming in but those guys do not grow on trees and I think Mitch will prove to be a great Gamecock...plus he is from NC. Nice to get a border QB.
he typically comes out at some point in the 3rd...I think there were two games this year where he played to the end of the third/into the fourth...
His next two weeks should be his biggest test of talent until the playoffs...This week he has Leesville Rd (Braxton Berrios's team) and the following week they have their rivals Wake Forest Rolesville (who went to 4A state last year, and got beat by Butler)...All three of these teams are undefeated this year and putting up around 40+ points per game...
His yards per attempt is 9.895, which is maybe the most impressive part since it shows he is not making a living throwing underneath.
This thought is not accurate...they throw the short crossing routes and screens in lieu of a running game...He will move the ball up the field with 5-8 short crossing routes, get to about the 30, then go for the end zone...Also his recievers do pretty good work after the catch on these short routes...80-85% of his throws go for around 5 or so yds...
No stat is perfect, but YPA correlates pretty well to what we consider a good QB to be.
