Cowherd is right - but every team other than Alabama maybe has issues somewhere - and ours right now are on the OL. Defense is playing lights out, and RBs and WRs are getting better. I would also say we are going to need consistent play from the QB position, but OL is the weak spot right now.
Can it improve? Of course. It has in the past simply by allowing the young guys to continue to gel and play together. But right now for us to be where we want to be, the OL has to run and pass block much better. Period. I would also like a healthy Shaw...Thompson has looked great but I worry about the risk/reward with him. He's going to make big plays but I think he's also going to put the ball at risk more than Shaw with sacks and INTs...especially on the road.
All we need with our defense is someone who is going to manage the game and protect the ball - win ugly like we did last year. Shaw is that guy - but it's good to see Thompson lighting it up and learning as well. Have been very impressed with Dylan but would rather see a healthy Shaw out there when we start up against the big boys - especially on the road.
OH, they have been calling out Bama's OL the last couple of weeks also. They have had trouble running it against WKU, WKU was pushing their line back, big time.
