Glad you linked this as I remember the hit but not at what point during the game it happened. It's the fact that it was clearly intentional helmet to helmet contact that should have been penalized.
I remember seeing that. I think they said something about how its legal, but I don't see how that possibly could be. You're right, he clearly went in there trying to hurt Ellington.
intent or not, is that a legit hit/contact?
''fair is not getting them same as everybody else, fair is getting what you need to succeed."
Not sure of the rules. He is more than 5 yards down field I believe so I don't think contact should be made.
Either way they took a shot when they got the chance. Same as most football players do.
Bruce had to go out of the game. Missed some plays. I did not hear him say one thing about being hit too hard by a thug.
Spurrier was on a ref about it. I think it was a shot to the head, leading with head and should have been penalized for that. had it been shoulder to shoulder I think it is a legal, cheap dirty play.
I have come here to chew bubble gum and kick ass, and I am all out of bubble gum.
We are to mean to complain about a sissy hit like the Clemson defense gives. Tigers are a bunch of cry babies!
Don't know about that hit really but he also took a shot to the back later in the game, caught 2 TDs and then played a college basketball game 5 days later. Tough, amazing athlete.

I agree with all of the thoughts expressed by the posters above.
Also, watch the Clemson sidelines after Ace is finally knocked out of bounds. Notice Dabo running up to the referee, whining about something, as he always does.
During the game, I was going crazy at the holding calls against us. As usual, SOS showed frustration on his face, but never really berated the officials. Contrast that to The Head Yell Leader at Clemmons, who is always putting his religion aside and bitching like a little girl at the refs.
wow.. thats just wrong... it doesnt get more defenseless than that. legal or not. let your balls drop and play the game like a man.
