Sure would like to see him givin' UGA the business every year, lots of conflicted opinions 'bout EJ on the board, for me, he laid a good foundation for us to build on, will wish him well unless he's playing us. Good work on that UCF GSR stuff, nice to see them amend the error, their mistake could be fuel for the fire for next year's game.

No big surprise. I never thought he would take any of the open acc jobs even though he could likely have the top defense in short time.
Lawson will be his first priority and I think he was the one that landed Clowney.
Go Gamecocks !!!
The guy had a chance to be a head coach . How can anyone here blame him .
He consistently put up good defensive stats while being a coach here . Thanks Ellis
No reason to bad mouth him . He did a heck of a job keeping some guys in state . Glad he got on at Auburn . Good gig for a good guy
I don't get it.
Thanks for posting duck
He will always go to the highest bidder.
EJ was Clowney's recruiter of record, but if I remember correctly Coach Ward was the closer out of the bullpen.

This may be the nearest truth of all the speculation along with a very understandable desire to give the HC job one last try. Many of us, I suppose, expect every new hire to fall into the same sense of loyalty and family as we fans and alums have. I have been pretty guilty of this and, seeing coaches leave here for better opportunities hasn't been the norm either.
I personally think it is a mistake for Johnson. Malzhan's offense will have several quick 3 and outs. If you think Johnson was frustrated by SOS's lack of physical practices, wait till his AU defense is on the field for most of the game.
I agree. If he didn't see eye to eye with Spurrier, I can't see him getting along with Malzahn or his crazy wife.
Is Miss Cocky going to be Miss Aubie now?
I too was thinking about the schemes they will play on both sides of the ball. GM wants to run 100 plays and EJ runs a bend but don't break don't get beat over the top type of defense.
We saw at Clemson what happens to that style of offense when they start worrying about getting the ball back. (Panick). Then on the other hand if the defense has 10+ play drives and then the offense scores in 2 plays it's like playing with 3 and outs all game. We will see, but to me I see a contrast of styles here.
I will say this, sometimes it's like anything else, you take the best available. EJ knows the SEC and has lots of experience.
I'm just curious as to how this will play out.
Thanks Duck, if we didn't have Whammy I would want Ellis back. Having said that I hope he doesn't come after our D line coach.

Really? Took a pay cut to go to USM. You know what other offers he currently had out there?

That's because coaching is his profession. Would you not change jobs for a better salary?
It amazes me that some folks think coaches ought to be fans.
