2014 DT 4* kid from Georgia, Jeremy Patterson is quoted in a Clemson article saying that if the tigers lad Montravious Adams they won't be taking a DT next year. So this 4* kid has Clemson in front early but they might not take him because of a kid from a different recruiting class.
You gotta take OL and DL every year. It's stupid not to.
Clearly they have no plan
No they will not take a DT for 2014,but they will take 4 RB's,7 WR's,2 PK's, and 1 Punter. They may have to waver on the punter though just in case the number's do not work out.
They are probably just selling Adams on that so he can think he wont have to compete with any new DL next year. Do you think they will keep their word? Highly unlikely.
I get telling Adams that. But why tell a kid in '14 class hey if this guy comes here we're not gonna take you. At least slow play the kid and after signing day sell him on playing next to big Mount Adams. Just seems counterproductive.
To make it more believable to Adams maybe? both are from Georgia so maybe when Adams gets word that they told this kid the same thing they have been selling him he might believe it more. I'm just guessing, who knows what abo will say and do to get a recruit to commit.
If a 5* player wants to avoid competition.......
It was an article on Clemson's rivals page. I'm not sure I'm allowed to link that.
They would just offer 2 DTs as DEs to get around their spin.....IMHO....then move them to DT.
Like I said, the kids you end up with has a lot to do with how you recruit.
And they seem to land a lot of highly rated drama queens who don't seem to work very hard until it is time to make a final push for the scouts.
