Our own current players and commits have made comments about the lack of class shown by our fans towards Rolin. Rolin knows all the top tier guys from camps and such, and they are watching this debacle unfold. Devin Washington made some comments about how he will be a Gamecock as long as GN never 'disrespects him, or his family'. I can tell you that a lot of those guys are in shock. We are not handling this well, in case you have not noticed.
Whether other fans do it or not does not make it any less ugly. The fact is, we are doing it at a time where we are trying to secure the last guys in our class. We all saw what unfolded with Crowell and the jawja fan base, and we all called them classless rednecks. We are acting at least as bad right now.
When someone as passionate as Kelcy Quarles is imploring the fan base to chill out and have some respect, it is probably time to take a step back.
Ally will beat the crap out of Uga.
Just a question. How many years under Spurrier have we beaten UGA or UF in recruiting? My guess is not many.
If you want the ultimate, you've got to be willing to pay the ultimate price. It's not tragic to die doing what you love.
I don't know if I 100% agree with this.
In 2011, we lost to freaking Auburn. Had we won that and lost to Top 10 Arkansas and still been left out of ATL, then we might have an argument. But we sh*t the bed vs. Auburn and it cost us.
In 2012, we got embarrassed in the 1 game we had to win to get to ATL. Even if we had beaten LSU the previous week, there was no guarantee we would've went to ATL (not sure how the tiebreaker would've worked with 3 1 loss SECE teams). So we go to the Swamp and our SECCG dream ended there.
Bottom line is Carolina needs to handle their business and step up and not lose games they have no business losing before we complain about somebody else's schedule.
Agreed. No use making excuses about the schedule. We knew who we had to beat to make it to the SECCG. We didn't get it done.
Spurrier...I appreciate him plenty
Those comments were all paraphrased from Tony's inside scoop on Rolin, so that's where I got them. I do think the kid is most likely a primadonna and I hope he learns more about integrity soon or it will make for rough relationships in his life. Still, I shouldn't have taken a masterful job to keep a 3rd generation Gamecock in the fold so I have to believe both parties are at fault here at the very least. Rolin's misleading comments has put us in a bad situation where we're now scrambling for a JC LBer to help fill our immediate need.
Would we have gotten it done if our schedule had been GA's? It is a question worth considering. While I agree that we didn't get it done, it doesn't mean we were not better than GA. Sometimes the ball just doesn't fall right for you. And that is a fact of life. I find it hard to blame the coaches and team in this instance. Do you not think that playing GA, LSU, FL and TN in a row didn't affect us. Football is a physical game. Just ask AL about playing TA&M after their game with LSU.
I'm not blaming the team and coaches because they didn't make it to the championship game. I simply choose not to make excuses for why they didn't.
I'm sorry when did we ever beat UF in recruiting?
Any recruit who pulled this at any school would get ripped. This is not a USC only phenomenon. These kids on twitter realize the attention goes both ways.
IMAZ 08 IMFL 08 IMKY 11 IMNY 12 IMTX 13
Its pretty clear that players and talented ones at that win championships. I completely agree we get great players, but there is still gonna always be an uphill battle to win the SEC when you are sixth in recruiting most years.

Hmmm....UF has always been ahead of Clemson. Not sure why it was deleted
I will agree with you that we are a better team than UGA, as evidenced by beating them head to head 3 years in a row. Same can be said for Clemson and the remainder of the SEC East save UF, which is debatable.
As for your question about us having gotten it done if we had UGA's schedule? Maybe, maybe not.
UGA played Auburn this year, and since Spurrier hasn't proven he can beat them since he's been here, I'm not sure it would've happened this year (even with how pitiful they were last year and we still lost). UGA also beat the UF team that we lost to this year, so again, it's not like Carolina completely held up their end of the bargain the last 2 years and got robbed. We controlled our own destiny the past 2 years, and let it slip away. UGA's schedule is not to blame for that.
Two losses in the SEC is typically not good enough to get you to ATL. The year we went in 2010, we had 3, and that was an aberration.
We are so close, but Carolina needs to stop dropping these "WTH?" type games every year before they complain about anyone else's schedule.
You do not know that.
Maybe Rolin will be a game changer. You do not know.
Stating facts NOW about the FUTURE is just fantasy.
You, sir, just don't know.
It's disheartening to know we are the only school in the SEC that loses recruits at the last minute and finishes second on out of state recruits that could have changed our program.
Actually, nothing could be further from the truth. It was kinda nice to have Mike Davis decommit from Florida last year and then turn away from his brother's legacy at Clemson to choose us, wasn't it? With Michael Dyer flaming out at Auburn, don't you think they wish their insiders had been correct when they were all predicting Lattimore to Auburn? With Southern Cal struggling in the last few years, you think Alshon Jeffery could have made a difference before his switcheroo to us? Do you know how many glum Clemson fans I talk to who start every conversation about the rivalry with "If we had only gotten Clowney, blah, blah, blah".
It's easy to fall apart when you think you are a victim. But we have had our share of steals and holds late in the recruiting process also. It cuts both ways. You don't finish in the top 15 in recruting for multiple years without equal stories of successes and failures along the way. Grow up.

the last time that I checked Florida Georgia Auburn Alabama and LSU whip us in recruiting every year. The only results I really care about are what the scoreboard says at the end of each 60 minutes. with that said we have beaten Georgia 3 straight years Florida 2 out of the last 3 Alabama the last time we played themand we gave LSU all they could handle this year. We are where we are as a result of good recruiting and the recruiting that we have done has fallen below the other teams listed anyway and we are still beating them
If some of you think we're just going to roll into Georgia and Florida and grab their top tier talent consistently then you're kidding yourselves.
