Deja vu all over again?? Have we no shame?
No shame and little plan.
Did someone say deja vu?

I would prefer a high school guy. Give me Cunningham, Moore, Kelsey or Ngakoue. Golson can KMA.
5 in a row
Walt Wilson says that the interest is coming from Golson's end.
“He’s always wanted to play at Carolina,” Wilson said. “He found out they lost two linebackers and I contacted coach Spurrier Jr. to get the ball rolling
So can Golson be a SEC linebacker or not?
We currently have 2 healthy lb's in the SEC. A legacy flipped on us to go to jorts-land and a JUCO from Georgia chose to go to A&M over us. I would love to be optimistic and say we'll land 2 other good linebackers in this class, but at this point, by all means take Golson.
The kid can definitely play. That is about all I know. If you are the staff, given our situation, I think you have to at least weigh this guy in with the other options. PHYSICALLY, he could come in and play next year. I'm not privy to what else is going on with him (clearly there is something). Talent has not been this guys issue.
this guy asks the tough questions...
Well done sir...
NO dont want
We would be foolish to not take him. Only reason we backed off was because he couldn't make it in by January. Why some of you think we should pass with our current LB situation I do not follow your logic.
You and Cockfather seem pretty adamant yet vague. Is it just his prior recruitment or is there something else that makes y'all feel that way?
Yes. He was good enough to be a SEC line backer before we found out his grades weren't what we thought they were. He's a JUCO guy who can't enroll in Jan. That is our issue with him.
Ally will beat the crap out of Uga.
No doubt Steve. People forget that he was good enough to go into Louisville and win a starting position as a Freshman before the NCAA nixed him. This is a blessing in disguise if we are somehow able to land him. It's a shame we have people b!tching about possibly being able to bring in a top JUCO kid at our LB position.
His grades are still bad, needs three classes to get into USC. When he was committed, he denied it to several media outlets and now we end up chasing and begging guys to come here that really don't want to be Gamecocks! I say it looks bad and we will end up with egg on our face cause he will not be a Gamecock.
No one anywhere states that he is a top JUCO talent. If he really wanted to be a Gamecock, he would have stayed committed. He didn't even speak well about USC during his interviews! Don't know why people are so convinced he wants to be here.
He's the #4 rated JUCO LB for 2013. He's rated an 89.
I heard him say a lot of good things about USC. He said he wasn't committed when we started backing off when we found out he wasn't going to be able to enroll in Jan. No big deal. If he can get in, we would love to have him.
If Cockfather and Yellowfin don't want him then I hope he commits to us tomorrow.
Where's the downside. We are not likely to get the others we are pursuing.
I don't think I'm interested in having him either no matter how bad we need linebackers. This guy has made us chase him for year and he has never held up his end of the bargain. We recruit him...he commits....doesn't make grades....goes separate ways....rerecruit him....he commits.....denies commitments....takes multiple visits....still denies commitment...still has grade issues....
I know we have a need at linebacker but we have never been strong there since brinkley, this kid is not make or break for next year and we have done such a good job of recruiting stand up guys and not primadonas.
For all you people caught up on Rolins decommitment...the kid wasn't going to play next year anyway due to rehab, no matter if he said he might or possibly. We don't lose anything next year from his decommitment, maybe down the line so the juco track is right path. But Golson? A guy who has demanded to be wooed?
Bottom line-The University of South Carolina is no longer the bottom feeder of the SEC and we don't just take what we can get. We have always been thin at lb and not very productive so we don't need to settle bc we have had some bad luck recruiting at the position.
