How annoying were the strobe lights on 3rd down? I was about to go into epileptic shock and I was just watching on TV. Was it that bad in person as well?
My favorite part of the game was the wide shot of the stadium late in the game when all the video boards were flashing "GET LOUD". You could hear a pin drop. Hilarious!

They weren't strobes. They were flashing the video and ribbon boards in tandem completely around the field. It was annoying and I'll be surprised if something isn't addressed about that kind of stuff by the NCAA. Piping amplified noise into a stadium isn't allowed, I'm sure this kind of artificial distraction fits the spirit of that rule as well. One thing for the crowd to be waving towels or poms, completely different for the video boards to be flashing at full intensity. Never have seen them used that way before, not at TENN, GA or any other stadium. Leave it to the tigs to find loopholes to their advantage....
It was very annoying looking down from the nose bleeds but I think if it was a problem at field level we would have heard about it in someone's post game presser.

I was there and have watched replay as well. I really never even noticed them so I am going to look for it next time I watch over again. I don't think it bothered our guys at all. All the music and players jumping on screen to get fans up was so lame...that's why it so quiet there the music is loud so the fans don't make noise unless its to spell. I heardamy say it was like an SEC atmosphere and I disagree. The only thing like SEC was us being there. Our band really makes us look great as well...huge in our culture change. They also came to our corner of stadium at halftime and performed for our fans only in a sense.

You can't see! I can't see! All that matters is can the f*&%ing horse see! That's a raid!
To be honest, I was sitting in Section D, upper deck, and I didn't even notice the strobe lights!

I believe the conference controls that behavior. We are not allowed to do the rooster crow on third downs due to lovely sec rules. I would wager the screen use falls into the same realm. Clemtech hasn't played many nights ... so I am sure they didn't know the effect.... right
Watched in tv and was highly annoyed at the lighting. For those who were there did they have the strobes on equally during Clemson and sc drives? If just for sc drives then they would have to get called out on that.
The Ballons were cheesy as hell too.
It was really obvious from the upper decks... how was it from the lower levels? They used flashing lights on their "big" board as well, even when we were driving that direction. I'm certainly not a football player, but seems like it would be a little distracting. Most places do flash the smaller boards that encircle the stadium, but do a live-action shot on the big screens.
BTW - using microphones on their band to project them over the stadium loudspeakers: incredibly lame.
I was in section T over by the band and didn't even notice it.
Those were video boards ? Looked like 32" flat panels

It was really annoying from the upper deck and everyone around us made comments about it. However, the "Get Loud" in black in white was not near as bad as the 2 or 3 times they displayed a flashing tiger. I don't know if anyone else remembers but they would show a tiger's face with big eyes. The entire screen would be flashing. That was the most annoying thing.
