Guy called in to 107.5 today saying he took a tour of the facilities yesterday. He said that towards the end of their tour, they were going up to a conference room or something, when one of his kids said "Are we supposed to be up here? There's somebody already here."
Turns out it was Shaw sitting on the couch by himself looking at film. He stood up to greet them. I'm paraphrasing, but the caller said that Shaw had a look of disappointment in his eyes. The tour host asked Shaw why he was there (this was less than 24 hours after the game at LSU ended), and he said he was getting ready to meet G.A. to prep for Florida. The caller went on to say that Shaw was very gracious and took pictures with his kids.
The man who took the tour went on about how most guys have Sunday off, but start prep for the next opponent on Monday, but it's neat to hear a story about a QB getting to the film room early so soon after a heartbreaking loss.
Thanks for the post. Shaw is gonna bounce back this week!
Excellent! If I had been this guy I would have had him take a pic with my 6 yrd old , while saying "Sadie, one day this picture will mean a lot to you. This is Connor Shaw, the best quarter back in college football. He is going to Gainesville this weekend to avenge the loss of the week before, and begin the best stand, showing the world, we are the best college football team in America!"
If we don't already have one, we need a team psychologist. Every team should have one! We WILL WIN AT FLA!!! I am making the trip out of testament to this team's skill, and ability. A couple of years ago, I wouldnt have felt so confident!
Thanks that was awesome
i have to admit that I have never been a Shaw fan but I cannot say that its due to his lack of effort.
After reading this I feel bad for ever doubting Shaw, Cannot fault a young man who puts this much work into his art and craft.
I know Shaw will lead us to the promise land.
Thanks again for sharing.
Never been a shaw fan? Seriously?
Hope he learned something in film study. We need him to play better if we are going to win in the Swamp.
I know. I'm not saying he is one of these type people, but some resent shaw bc they are still obsessed w Garcia

"i have to admit that I have never been a Shaw fan"
As I've said before, culture change will never happen for some.
Kind of sad, really.
I figured after Connor's poor play on Saturday that he would be spending every waking hour studying film to try to get better. That is why he is such a winner. Go get 'em, Connor.
I'm not sure studying film will make him that much better. He studies film constantly and knows the offense and opposing defenses. The only thing SOS questioned was his decision making at LSU. I know everyone here will start yelling and screaming how is 10-2 for decision making, etc. but he was off Saturday night. This whole team, yes including Shaw, needs to play with the same level of intensity and fire as they did against UGA for every game if they are to accomplish their goals.

May be a part of the learning curve to flatten out the highs and lows, eh!
Good post. I like your outlook on things.
Ally will beat the crap out of Uga.
Conner Shaw One Of My All Time Favorite Gamecocks
I certainly hope they do not flatten out the highs and lows but just eliminate the lows and get consistently high. That is how the elite teams play, high energy and high effort and good decision making every time out. This team has the ability to be elite which is why it is a little frustrating.
I'm not obsessed with Garcia, and I dont' resent Shaw, but to say I think he's the best qb since marino like some of yall do would be false. You can tell he's smart on the field. I have no doubt in his ability to read coverages and notice strong and weak points in defenses. But he has to put that knowledge into practice. Although Garcia took WAY too many chances and was WAY too inaccurate at times, he still played with a ton of heart, much like Connor does. I just want to see him let it go more. He's decent as is, but he's gotta do more with his arm early in games.
