1. Johnny Football
My "guess" is that Te'o will win..
(If I were voting - I'd give it to Klein)

Te'o being the 2nd defensive player to win it would be a joke.
It should be Manziel, but I have a strange feeling that te'o will win it. My reasoning is that the southeast will split votes with Manziel, jones, and Clowney getting enough to close the gap a bit. The Midwest and Northest will be all Te'o so it is going to come down to the west coast and I think that they will split fairly evenly.
Hope I am wrong but I fear this happening. Sucks because Te'o isn't even the best defensive player in the country.
Manziel will win. Mark it down.
Who is the best defensive player in the country?
1. Te'o-great season. Saw today that he's tied for first in the country in takeaways. His downfall is that he doesn't have the wow plays that are normally associated with heisman winners, true defensive players don't have that so if he wins it it will be extra close. Sad thing is if he wins most will consider it a pity vote because of the tragedy with his family this season. The heisman is also treated like a career achievement award, and that works in his favor
2. Klein-He'll get the "i'm not voting a defensive player first nor will I vote for a freshman" votes. Klein's touchdowns are impressive, but he's like Tebow without the hype. If they didn't bomb the game at Baylor (he threw three picks that game) then he'd probably win it.
3.Manziel-if manziel was a sophomore, he'd win it. If he were a junior, it'd be a landslide. he's had a great season, broken records, and beat #1 alabama at home. But he's a freshman, and his inability to win games against UF and LSU will be whats used to cast votes for the other two. The team isn't playing for a national championship and you could point to his play as a reason why they aren't. If he continues on the clip that he's on, he'll be in the same discussion as archie griffin when he leaves TA&M.
Both jones and clowney are better than te'o. Both had as many big plays when you break down games. It could be said the jones won both the Missouri and fla games for Georgia. Clowney had monster games against Clemson and Georgia. Facts are being a good tackler and being in the right place for interception deflections and fumble recoveries does not a heisman winner make. If Te' o wins it will be because the story not just the player and his play.
I agree with everything you said here. I'm sure I will be disappointed b/c the second best defensive player is going to win when there is a guy who is obviously the best football player in the country that will lose only b/c 1) he doesn't play for the media's favorite team and 2) most voters cannot accept the fact that a Freshman can be the best player.
Wealth is the product of man's capacity to think.
There are no evil thoughts except one: The refusal to think.
Teo even being invited is an absolute joke. His Ints were crappy deflections or thrown right at him with nobody in sight. No forced fumbles for a MLB, one recovery, less tackles than both his Soph and Jr season, 1.5 sacks and 5.5 TFLs.
I expect him to win also. I have doubts that Manziel will get the votes out the SE just bc people are sick of the SEC .

"People always ask me if I wish I were bigger. I tell them no. I always wanted to be a miniature badass." Dustin Pedroia
I think Klein should win it. He had one 'bad' game this year, and he's not going to win it because of that. Manziel had 2 games that he was a big part of the reason they lost. He's great, and has great stats, don't get me wrong, but he has 2 great receivers, and a great OL around him. Can anybody name one of Klein's receivers?
I think all the Te'o hate is a little excessive. He has over 100 tackles this year, and 7 interceptions. ND is undefeated, also. Take him off of that team, and they probably have at least 3 losses. He's a MLB, so he doesn't have all of the sexy sacks, but he is every bit the player of Jarvis Jones. Just because his highlights are of the blue-collar variety doesn't mean he's not great. It's like comparing Ulacher to Von Miller. Miller has sexy highlights, but when it comes down to it, you would rather have Urlacher on your team.
Ally will beat the crap out of Uga.
Johnny Football should and will win it
Teo will win because ESPN has shoved him down everyone's throat.
I would not put Teo in the same class as Urlacher. I question his coverage skills and lateral movement. I think he is a two down LB in the NFL and probably will be over drafted by Jacksonville in an effort to put fans in the seats. I like Ogletree from UGA much better bc I think he is more complete. Teo reminds me too much of AJ Hawk.
Johnny Football I hope! No disrespect to Te'o, but im sick about hearing about notre dame and him! He isnt even the best defensive player in college football. If he wasnt playing at ND he would not even be in New York!

Te'o is better than jones. Jones to me is grossly over rated and is not a factor in the run game. Clowney is great in his own right, but is not as complete in the run as he can be. I believe Te'o is the most complete defensive player. Yes, clowney and jones are more explosive, that can't be debated.
Would love to see it go to a defensive player b/c I'm a defense guy, but it'll got Manziel and won't even really be that close.
Should be Manziell and will only be Te'o if Manzeill being a freshman AND the ND-media love fest work against him. Kid's numbers are no doubters.

Well deserved Johnny.
2013...watch out Clowney!
Glad that barrier is broken now. Now we just need a true defensive player and a lineman to win it....
