Inspired by athletes of who love Jesus at the University of South Carolina, THE BIBLEOUTLOUD.com is a site built purely as a ministry resource and a unique community outreach to challenge anyone and everyone to reacquaint themselves with the power of the Bible.
Just another WordPress site
Really cool to see them do this. Something that will probably get zero attention in the media, but makes me prouder than any donation that would.
We have some impressive student athletes who just happen to be some of our biggest stars. Well done!
I continue to be so impressed by Dylan Thompson, and we already knew about Michael Roth, JBJ, Lattimore, etc. We not only have great administrative leadership in our athletics department, we also have amazing student leadership.
When these guys tweet, hundreds of thousands of people are reading it. It may not get mainstream media attention, but the social media (which probably reaches more people than the networks) will sit up and pay attention. Facebook maxes out at 5,000 friends, but these athletes have more than that. People who don't "like" their statuses or comment get knocked off and someone else takes their place. Many of them leave their FB pages open so that fans aren't left out. They also have fan pages, and what they do is promoted on Gamecock facebook pages.
Thompson is a social media animal. He can tweet and get 600 retweets in an hour. Same with Lattimore and Roth. Lattimore's following is bigger than Thompson's.
I'm so glad that they are using their celebrity statuses for something good rather than for personal glory.
Absolutely blown away. I've forwarded this to Ivan Maisel at ESPN.com. This needs to be seen on a very large scale.
Is this what Dylan Thompson was excited about? I'm assuming yes. This is great to see.
Very proud of them.
This should be push pinned
With The Lord on our side we cannot fail (or hopefully lose). Good to see these young athletes with their heads on straight!
Thread of the year the 2nd week of the year. Pretty impressive group of young men grace our campus these days. Knocking down walls and barriers like they hit home runs and score touchdowns. It's great to be a Gamecock.
WOW. Proud of these kids.
And all of them know that they are painting a target on their heads. They have seen the abuse heaped on other outspoken Christian athletes. This is a truly courageous act.

ditto here... just awesome!
Good job. Was gonna email it to WISTV here in Columbia. Went to their website and found this.

2012 Season stats: 143 carries, 662 yards, 11 TD's; 26 catches, 173 yards;
Praying for a full recovery, Marcus. God Bless You!
Awesome to see that the Michigan QB has endorsed it and posted on it already.
Great to see these young men have the proper perspective on things.
"Remember whose side you're on, regardless of the outcome."
So proud of these young men for reaching out & taking a bold step forward for their faith.
The difference with them &, well, certain others, is with our young men what they are doing is truly coming from their hearts & not being used for for personal gain, or to help the coaches with recruiting. Very refreshing guys...
