Rather than another Texas team - would like to see UVA and UNC - with the exception of Texas A&M - we would have every state university from Virginia -
to Louisiana. Texas would be ok - but their track record is they want to run everything in the Big 12 - UNC's ego would be bad enough.
No need for Texas!
Would be huge.
It has been stated multiple times that any additional teams have to bring new TV markets. More TV sets = more $. Texas is not in the conversation.
UNC would be a huge addition. As much as we hate the Tarheels it would be the best possible choice for the conference. Gamecock fans need to get over the fact that we hate them..we hate UT, UGA, Auburn and Florida too... Look at the bright side - It's just an opportunity to beat them every year.
No the most likely choice is to split up the conference into 4 divisions where you can rotate through the teams much more efficiently - like the NFL.
I'm a USC fan not a SEC fan. UNC coming to the conference would not help us. Turning college football into minor league NFL is not a good thing.
If you're a USC fan, you should be an SEC fan. We would be nowhere close to where we are today without the exposure of the SEC. Plain and simple. As that exposure and dollars grow with the SEC, USC grows with it.
Texas does not own their media rights. They signed them over to the big 12 as part of the new package. Any big 12 team can leave, but the Big 12 owns their TV rights making them worthless any other conference.
