This sounds familiar.
Well hopefully he has more success with Johnie than Garcia. Have to commend Hyman for doing the right thing, wonder how this story got out though? Sounds like something folks would want to keep quiet.
I bet Mrs Hyman was there
No hymen can stop Johnny Football.
I'm sure there's been a ton of Hym(a)n vs. Johnny Football since he's won the Heisman :x
You mean an athletic director having to rein in a college football player for showing his butt? I'm sure it happens all the time.
Spurrier...I appreciate him plenty
Still laughing at the USC fans who blamed Hyman's wife for Garcia acting like a jackass.
The guy has a war chest of credibility. Hyman did great things here but we've moved on to bigger and better things. Don't miss the guy.
My guess would be from Hyman.
My observation is he delights in the den mother role, showing parents and coaches how to teach the players the proper way to extend their pinky at afternoon tea.
It's the chapel hill in him. Funny he never seemed to push our guys into afro-american studies, though.
So, some of you are finding fault when the leader of a multi-million dollar entity tells the face of said entity to quit showing his @zz?
Me too. And what was funny was that she was apparently not involved at all. One person started a rumor, and the Garcia dicklickers got all up in arms. It was a sad day for Gamecock athletics.
What's even worse are the people who still do the Team Garcia stuff. SMH
Elliott "Small" Fry
Yes, they are called Hyman Haters. They have no clue.
I'm not, I just find the situation oddly coincidental.
What? That Johnny football is an attention whore like Garcia? Seems pretty standard for an over glorified football player. Guys like Lattimore are the exception to that rule.
Hyman is full of himself. If that ain't obvious I don't know what is
Not that either. More that a high profile athlete is enjoying the perks of the position, albeit more publicly that he probably should, and that the athletic director is publicly inserting himself into the situation in an attempt to modify his behavior.
There was no reason for this meeting with the Manziels to be public.
That is called leadership, and its obvious that there was a huge leadership void that existed at USC in the 20+ years before he got here. Not saying that Hyman was perfect or that I agreed with all of his tactics. That being said, Tanner has the leadership qualities needed to carry USC forward.
That definitely was not the point I was making. The level of involvement of a non-employee in the daily affairs of the AD was my point.
Ask anyone with an office in the new AD building. See how far the control went.
PTC, you hit the nail on the head.
OK that last part might be true. However, I think some public scrutiny would go a long way and I agree that these kids need to be put in their place every once and a while.
Hyman was the best AD we have ever had, evident by the on field successes as well, and more importantly, as the off field successes. Not to mention the money thing. best financial decisions we have ever made were made under Hyman.
No one blamed Hyman's wife for any of Garcia's behavior. There was concern about how the whole matter was handled and it seemed to have been overblown.

Hyman went public with this. He is an egomaniac
No question it was overblown. I am quite certain it came out that she wasn't even at the event and was having back surgery. Not 100% on that. And even if she was there and called out Garcia, he absolutely deserved it. I think blind faith in anything or anyone is stupid. Too many in our fan base had blind faith in Garcia, in fact some still do for whatever reason.
