I just hope the kid does not commit anywhere until August so we'll have some football stuff to talk about daily until fall practice starts.
Good linebackers here can be good at other schools. Good linebackers at other schools can be good here.
Coach Botkin should pass on Miller if he feels Miller isn't a fit for our system. Time will tell whether he's made the correct decision.
Spurrier...I appreciate him plenty
When the coaches disagree whose side do you take?
Failure to understand or acknowledge that LB's in a 3-4 vs LB's in a 4-2-5 are different animal is my point. If Miller goes to Bama and is an AA it's not axiomatic that he'd have been a huge success here. Yet that is the falsehood that is being laid out with which to bash the coaching staff over should that happen.
The Head Coach that has led us to unprecedented heights. It's really not that hard...
Not unless he goes to another program that runs a 4-2-5 and sets the world on fire. That's like saying Mike Leach passing on a Tim Tebow type QB is wrong if that QB goes to another program that runs an Urban Meyer type offense and is wildly successful.
Anyone remember Chris Bond. He was from RNE and was suppossed to be a stud. We passed and he went to Bama. Dont think he ever played. Could be very similar here. Just sayin.
If that's the critieria you wish to use that's okay by me.
He doesn't make many recruiting decisions, especially on defense.
Question remains. This is one of many examples.
Lawing passed on Bonds. Lawing wanted Miller. Lawing works at Florida. New LB coach passed on Miller as LB.
For people to speculate why we're not recruiting him hard then argue over said speculation makes how much sense??
Do you honestly believe that SOS would sit back and let a local legacy get passed over, especially one whose father has an open mic daily to vent/trash and has demonstrated a propensity to do so, without having any input whatsoever?
How will time tell if he plays in a completely different system? Good or bad.
Because the usual suspects have drawn a line in the sand on this one. Miller is a must get. if we don't land him it's because we're stupid. If he's anything better than a practice team player elsewhere he'll have been the biggest miss in the history of the program.
Nothing else matters.
LOL. What other criteria can be OBJECTIVELY applied?
I don't require an objective standard. I'll just form a subjective opinion.
So, what you're saying is you'll judge the success our coaches' decisions based solely on subjective opinion? That explains a great deal.
If he turns down a Bama offer as a 3-4 backer he's as dumb as his dad
some kids head out of state and that's all there is to it. He's a Columbia area kid. Maybe he doesn't want to stay that close to home. If he has no interest in USC I really do not care.
