players before the game. Played for Ford when they won/bought the NC. Lighthearted conversation for the most part. Not alot of talk about the game. The guy I'm talking to said "You think they are puckered up over there?". I asked what he was talking about. He said "the CU locker room." He had someone from inside the locker room texting him. The insider said Venables was still watching tape. 30 minutes before game time.
I thought the CU staff and team would be really feeling the pressure to win the game. I didn't think a coach would be watching tape right up to game time though.
Gamecocks Love Barbeque !!
LOL! We are officially in their domes! I hope it lasts for years and years. Thanks for posting
He sounds like a hard working guy, but not a confident guy who can make in game adjustments. Wally Burnham was a hard worker. IMO you just have to have that knack for making adjustments as the game plays out. Spurrier is good at this and Whammy seems to be pretty good at it.
Meanwhile, 30 minutes before game time, Steve Spurrier put down his Coors Lite, made a quick call to verify that Dabo Swinney was still the Clemson coach, then relaxed, cracked open another, and returned to his note pad of one liners.

Two problems with your post:
(1) Spurrier drinks Coors original. The banquet beer.
(2) Dabo is the one who rehearses his one-liners, not Spurrier.
Otherwise, I think you're right.
Little hand says it's time to rock and roll.
Whammy said he stayed up all night before the Cap One Bowl watching tape of Nebraska.
His efforts paid off, whereas those of Burnt Vegetables did not.
^^^^^^This is good, really good.
this is an excellent image.
....If, then, Spurrier takes a long swig from the can, cocks his butt cheek up and cuts loose a mach-1 vent, while belching out " clemson sucks Carolina #%$# "
Taters are extreme front ruinners. They crumble under pressure. They jumped out in front of FSU. The 'Noles finally figured out CU was inferior along the lines of scrimmage. FSU pulled even and then danced away in a huge collapse by the Taters. Any team that hangs close with them into the 2nd half should beat them. They are head cases, a soft team & crumble under pressure. It's been that was for the last 4 or 5 years at least. These are not your grandaddy's Taters.
I would hope so. It was an interview for the biggest job of his life.
As opposed to the 12th game of your new job when you got a $300K raise instead of the demotion that was coming.
Regarding #2 - Dabo doesn't know one-liners - only tirades and cliches.
That was his first game as coordinator
