1) Rumph disrespected HIS university for 5 years while at Clemtech 2) if he is truly a coach Saban wants to keep we will not afford his financial demands
Rumph made 300K, which is what most of Alabamas assistants made last year. If we really want him we could afford to pay him in that range. The questions is if he wants to come home.
Don't care, guy can coach and is a ruthless recruiter. Bring him home and pay him more than Lawing gets from Florida.

Rumph disrespected us by working for Clemson? You obviously don't understand the business of coaching.
Not for working at Clemtech. Everyone needs to be able to work but saying bad things about my university and the university he graduated from leaves a bad taste in my mouth
Sorry you were offended, but this is about getting the jimmies and joes and coaching em up. I don't care why he did, bring him home and use that passion for us.
Lawing has many more years in coaching than Rumph and yet he makes the same that lapwing makes. Seems like he is grossly under paid when he is more accomplished and a better resume
Come home and do what?
Negatively recruit against USC? Not develop talent well? Hold Ward's clipboard?
His d line looked good this year, and you have to be kidding if you don't think he can recruit.
He has guys BEGGING to come to Bama so why change jobs an double your work load
Fair point but at least offer a raise.
Negatively recruit against our opponents, positively recruit for his alma mater, coach our dl, and recruit some more.
Screw Lawing and screw Rumph!
If you think Chris Rumph gives a rat's ass about his alma mater you're a damn fool. He went above and beyond negatively recruiting against USC, and does anyone here really think he could have somehow made that Bama defeisinve line look bad? Really ppl
If he is willing to dog out his alma mater on the recruiting trail, that is the kind of recruiter I want. Being a nice guy doesn't win games.
I am good with it too. I think Rumph can Coach.
Being a backstabbing Brad Scott loyalist doesn't help USC, nor is there any proof he can coach. Remember how badly Clemson's DL underachieved while he was there? I don't even understand how anyone with a USC degree could ever want that guy to set foot on campus again as anything other than an opponent.
So you want a coach with no morals whatsoever. Ni character. No shame. To hell with Rumph.
I don't know if it's true he has "no" morals but he damn sure had no love for USC.
I'm not sure he's that great of a recruiter. Check out who he's signed the last 3-4 years. He's done okay but certainly nothing special.
Spurrier...I appreciate him plenty

IMO FWIW, I always thought his DLines at clem were perennial underachievers
