Fair points, minus the confusion of Larenz Bryant s/ the D tackle from Miami
With some big misses and a couple of big de-commitments, is there trouble with USC recruiting? Or is it just part of the growing pains of trying to become a consistent elite program?

I didn't realize we had any recruiting problems. This class looks normal to me. We will never pull the classes UGa and Florida does. Simple fact.
Elliott "Small" Fry
Seems to be some bad info in that article. Isn't Larenz Bryant firmly committed? They've got him wavering between FSU and Miami? Pretty sure that is all wrong. Perhaps they are thinking Greg Bryant? Who I think just committed to Notre Dame...
Edit: they are confusing L. Bryant with Keith Bryant. Fail.. Think Greg is the RB everyone is so worked up about.

It would be reasonable to believe that our recruiting would elevate relatively from our new found competiveness and the higher profile having stars like ML21 and Clowney brings to your program. We will never have the advantage of the talent depth in state like Florida and Ga. but it seems our staff may be failing to ride our momentum on the recruiting trail. We are basically recruiting at the level we were 5 years ago.
Yes, that's the most disturbing thing for me is this lack of urgency that SOS shows by hiring poor recruiters

Not really. Georgia is still Georgia, Florida is still Florida.
Some people want to pretend things are different from how they are or that as a program south Carolina controls more than it does.
The other teams have a stake in the result too. And they have more to sell.
A few good non-championship years isn't going to elevate sc over old powers any more than Eli manning's run elevated ole miss.
We are getting better than we've ever gotten. Don't throw the baby out like the idiots at one miss.
I would MUCH rather have good Coaches...Look at Clemsux as an example
