Has nothing to do with Martin but I can't recall in my lifetime seeing a team that is worse than this. The Fogler's team tht only won 8 games could probably beat these guys.
No. As unfathomable as it is, we were worse last year. I truly can't recall feeling like we were, but we were.
And there were some mighty lean years when Fogler came in
This has to be the worst shooting team that I have seen.
I would have to agree. Nothing on the perimeter and they miss more bunnies then I have ever seen a team miss. A work in progress for sure
I think the program as a whole is the worst it has ever been when you include the attendance at the games
At least last year you had Harris who could block the occasional shot. And Malik Cooke was a pretty good player.
This year's team looks more cohesive, gets better shots...and still can't make them.
Last year's team was better but this team has far better coaching so it's pretty much a wash.
You guys must have not been around during the Steve Newton era.
No, last year was worse.
Attendance has been better this year. Student involvement is awful, but overall numbers are up from last year.
This years team would beat last years team easily.
Honestly, going into the year I said 12 wins with two in conference would be a realistic goal and that I would be content with that.
The best thing that can happen is for the season to end as soon as possible with no injuries or major incidents. Lets finish recruiting strong, get healthy, and start working on next season.
I have full confidence that Frank Martin has us going in the right direction.

Maybe so, but the talent last year was vastly superior. Our best player, Bruce, joined the team & a new system mid-season. The two most promising young players on the team, Harris & Gill, transferred. Our toughest player, Cooke, graduated. Martin had no time to bring in a recruiting class. With the talent we've been putting on the court it's amazing we've won any games.
If Gill & Harris would've stayed & Hollaway would've stayed I think we'd be a bubble team at worst.
If you are old enough to remember the Steve Newton era, then you know that the only way it could get worse than that would be for someone to set off a dirty bomb during a home game.
It was discussed before the season ever started....we knew we lost key players as quoted above and that Frank didn't have any real talent to work with. We all knew it was going to be like this. But now the complaining starts as if everyone had higher expectations as if we had some serious talent already.
We knew this would be a hard season. We knew we would have to wait for Frank to bring in players over the next 2-3 years before this team could seriously compete. Complaining about something we knew would happen...what's the point in that? We're living up to the low expectations as known before this season ever started. Be happy that we know Frank agreed to the building process and is up to the task. That is all we could hope for.
MAN that is RAW...like a dumpster fire on steroids. :>)
I like Coach too but please....we ask our players to be role models. Our coaches to be role models. I havent heard all of it but some of it was enough. I know basketball is a "special situation" and I guess somewhat like a the hell raising at umpires (in baseball) but just be a great coach recruiter, motivator with a little less drama on the sideline and in the national media. Not sure that is very productive.
No way - that team (BJ's senior year) was the worst BB team, men/women/youth, I have ever seen. This team would beat that one like a drum. That said, this one might be the least talented I have seen here in my 21 years in Columbia. I do think better days are ahead - and I bought season tickets this year (after taking a year off) to get back in the game. We'll see.
