Said we did not have a plan or foresight in Linebacker recruiting, not getting into the JUCO LB recruiting back in August. Have to do a better job identifying our needs and planning accordingly. Also questioned why we were not in on more LBs earlier.
So, its just not me folks.

Agreed. Everyone knows this is true but some seem to argue against it by saying SOS knows all, we were 11-2, next year's class, etc. All maybe true, but we dropped the ball on this. Not the biggest screw-up ever, but certainly something to at least admit. I hope we get Moore and Walton which would certainly ease alot of the frustration and I commend the staff and especially Spurrier for trying like hell to pull this out.
Yeah, but it's just you that keeps on beating that dead mule.
If we land Walton and Moore, credit due to Botkin, Grady Brown, and SOS. I will have more comments after Walton announces.
Don't think its a dead mule.
If critical, why not now?
agree on both your posts, the plan was just not there. If they did not like Rolin as an LB we should have been recruiting others. To me at least 1 juco was needed, especially one that could have come for spring ball. That being said if we sign Moore and Walton and combine it with Bryant it ends up being a good haul. That being said with a better plan, it could have been easier.
Oh, I can't wait. Who are you going to bash now?
What I find shocking is that if there really was no real plan in place, that means that multiple people were asleep at the wheel on what had to be the most glaring position of need for this upcoming off-season.
I think JC's criticism is a little unfair. Rolin seemed like the last guy who would punk us like that. They mis-evaluated him and didn't realize he was a baby that needed constant attention.
You're right it's a legit issue, but why would they have had a plan for Rolin decommiting?
Also, why were you not posting last year regarding the job Ellis was doing in having five avg to below avg seniors and no juniors or sophs ready to play?
Seems I heard a few times that Botkin wasn't sold on certain prospects at LB but we never identified others until late. Think some of this had to do with him being a HS coach last year and out of the loop so to speak?
Agreed, now should we have been in on a Juco? Probably given the lack of experience, so if you view the Juco comments on that basis only I agree with him. If you couple that with Rolin than I think it's silly to say we should have had a plan for a decommit, but that's just me.
Dude, we are 1 LB short, as of right now. Me and JC are going to have to disagree on this. Also, I'm sure JC did not call our coach a redneck, racist hilbilly.
Nobody, and I mean nobody, could coach this program, or recruit better for us than Spurrier has. I'll just leave it at that.

Ally will beat the crap out of Uga.
It was not only Rolin, but they had a bad evaluation on the other commitment who they backed off of late. They thought they were done at LB.
You are right though, this problem did not just pop up this year.
I do give them credit for getting on these kids late. Hopefully we can pull one out. Don't understand not going after the Lake City kid either.
Actually, I would like to hear exactly what he said and not your interpretation of his words. I seriously doubt that he unequivocably stated that we had NO plan, despite the fact that we have 4 LB commits currently and had 5 when Rolin was committed. Perhaps, he meant that we did not do as good of a job planning for contingencies such as Rolin flipping to FL. I do agree that we should have targeted a JUCO LB earlier but no one could have anticipated Cooper's knee injury in advance. Without that injury, we would not have needed a JUCO LB, not that we could not have used one from prep or JUCO, since Cooper has just as much experience and probably more talent than most prep or JUCO LBs out there this year.
I guess we also had NO plan when discussing a switch to LB for Rainey.
With respect to Dallas, I think our coaching staff thought that he would develop much more during his senior season since Stephenson High is a GA powerhouse which has been "good" to USC and perhaps we wanted to "get in" on this prospect early at a position of need. When he did not develop as hoped or expected, we had a misevaluation that needed to be corrected. Just speculative logic.

Not sure on Brunson, but I think he's too slow for OLB in the SEC and not sure he could play MLB. I think his speed is an issue at OLB.
Yeah the two star offer and commit is a real question mark for me.
If any of you could forsee Rolin bolting and Cooper getting hurt then you should be doing something other than posting here...
Nobody will argue that mistakes weren't made. We will argue when someone calls our coaches incompetent idiots, and racist hillbilies.
I would love to hear JC's actual words, and not the interpretation of some egomaniac feeding his agenda to the masses.
Keith...what purpose do see in constantly trashing our coaching staff?

Are we going to bash Bubba some more? If so its a dumb idea.
I don't think relaying what JC said and what most of us have concluded about the LBer recruiting plan is "bashing" the coaches.
Opinion confirmed by local AM sports radio. Total vindication.
