Even with those guys, we would need a juco.
When we had Bryant and Rolin, both of those guys were gonna need time to put on the weight.
Our lb recruitment was f'ing bizarre this year.
I find it interesting that when a very respected member of the recruiting world and the leading recruiting analyst of 247 sports says something less than flattering about this staff's handling of this cycle he even gets lambasted. Hilarious. This is better than prime time TV. Blindly follow, never question.

Works both ways, just sayin....
I hear ya. I always enjoy (for the most part) reading differing opinions. I just think JC pointed out the same things that a few outspoken folks on here have said and I believe that if they were positive things it would be "All hail JC, thanks for the info" but when he shared a somewhat negative opinion on a relatively controversial topic all of a sudden it's labeled a "manifesto" and he's compared to the Unibomber. Amusing to say the least.
Agree. It's a strange situation. I mean its a good class, but its puzzling how Botkins and crew have addressed the obvious mess left to him. Maybe it's Garnet glasses, but makes me feel like he thinks he's got what he needs in the young guys already in the program. Lewis has the size and between TH and Cooper I think they fill the OLB slot well. Think LB will get time but as a back up which is exactly where we would want him anyway to gain experience.
WOW..................this board is really changing. I have read all 8 pages of this thread and have been really surprised with the highly intelligent opinions coming from all directions and sources. No poster bashing, no name calling, just excellent discussion throughout. What a nice change. Hats off to all who have posted before me.
I don't understand how JUCO guys are such a must. You are still going to have a guy who is starting for the first time in the SEC, coming from far lesser competition level. You also only get them for 2 years. It's a quick fix, that will lead to more quick fixes. It's like eating a donut for breakfast. You are going to be hungry again in an hour, so what's the point?
They are 2 years older, but you have them for two less years. I don't understand why they are considered miracle workers.
The point is next year sets up for us to make the biggest run in our programs history. A physically ready LB from juco could have really been very helpful to our team especially one that could've gotten here in the spring. The frustration isn't that we failed to get one its that we didn't even try until xmas break.
I know you try to spin anything that happens to our team as great even if you have to make something up, but now you're saying JUCO players are worthless?
Many, many teams use them and there are a lot of good ones. We've had some really good ones. Bama uses them every year. You're new second favorite team KSU uses a ton of them. The list goes on.
KSU is also stuck in a cycle of depending on them. It's also very, very hard to get a bunch of talented high school kids out there.
I didn't say they were worthless. I said that I don't think they are the miracle workers some on here imply, and you should not depend on them. They are a short term solution in a world where continuity is hard to come by anyways.
You don't remember Brandon Golson?
I'm curious to know why you think next year is the big year??? I would think that this would be the year and honestly thought it could have easily been this past year. Not a knock on you, but every year we hear "next year is the year". What is so special about the 2014 season that makes you think that's our best chance?
Favorable schedule, 3rd year starter at QB, great DL.....
I think she is talking about 2014.
