Some of you guys must live a miserable existence that is completely devoid of joy. Our football program is in the midst of the greatest three year run we've ever experienced, just defeated the taters for the fourth straight year for the first time in most of our lives, are preparing to play one of the most historic programs in college football in a New Year's Day bowl game, and yet you choose to implode and bash our coaching staff over a setback in LB recruiting that MAY hurt us in the future? You guys need some freaking perspective. Why rob yourself of joy today over what may or may not be a problem down the road? Live in the now and experience joy TODAY! Trust me, it's a much better place to be...Now down vote away!!!
BC , great post.
I don't know about you all but this is the most joyous day of my life! I can't wait to watch our new 5-0-6 defense hit the field next fall. GAMETIME BABY ... WOOO!!!
It is very sad to me that a group of prima donna's (sp) led by Cockfather know so much that they are ready to get rid of alot of HBC's staff while we are enjoying the best years ever.
I really hope they either get a coaching job themselves or another team to pull for because with the wreck less posts they make based on insider info, it can do nothing but bring this program down.
You guys love yourself so much you probably have mirrors in every room of your house.
I heard this same chatter around the Tenn. program when Fulmer was there and look what that got them.
Please give yourself another team for Christmas for you surely are no true Gamecock fan!

Amen. I wonder how many programs out there would trade their staffs for Steve Spurrier and his lousy assistants. Or our 2 and 3 star players for the high rated Clempson recruits who we beat the pants off of the last 4 years.
1. A feeling of great pleasure and happiness.
2. A thing that causes joy.
delight - gladness - pleasure - mirth - rejoicing
One of my favorites...The TRUE meaning of joy. Amen and amen.
Blessed, I genuintely wanted to start a thread that would ask for some psychological explanation for what is going on with this board right now.
It seems bizarre to me.
There are some people who have been trying to make a crisis out of uncertainties pretty consistently for awhile now. Not sure where that is coming from, but I think it definitely smacks of something being percolated in an echo chamber.
Agreed VB, bizarre indeed...
Plus... the world is ending tomorrow, so our linebacker situation is theoretically irrelevant.
Still have alot old "Old Carolina" thinking on this board
Good post blessedcock and GREAT post JDBCOCK.
These kinds of posts are just retarded to me. They're like the people that say things like 'I'm not losing any sleep since we've won 30 games in 3 years'. No sh*t. I doubt abyone is losing sleep. I doubt anyone lost sleep when we were 0-21 either.
My quality of life isn't greater bc we've won 30 games in 3 years. Nor is it worse. Nor was it better or worse when we lost 21 in a row. I don't typically think about USC sports unless there's a game going on that I'm interested in, or, when I'm on TBS. The 'joy' in my life has never, or will never revolve around what happens with USC sports. Do I get excited when we win? Absolutely. Did I jump around like a 4 year old when the baseball team won both World Series? You damn right! Am I disappointed and frustrated when we lose games like UF this year? Hell yeah. But it takes less than a 1/2 of a tenth of a second for me to see my son smile, or hear his laugh before I don't give two F's about USC sports.
So, when I'm bored at work, or sitting up late at night and decide to check out TBS, if I want to complain bc of LB recruiting, I will. And it has zero bearing on how joyful my life is. The fact is, whether Ellis screwed the pooch of not w/r/t LB recruiting, the issue is still going on. So, since Ellis is gone, has no impact on what's happening today, I feel there's due reason to question the people that are currently involved. Forgive me, but MOST people say a big reason we haven't had more success is bc of OL recruiting and that we're still feeling effects from John Hunt. So yes, I'm a little apprehensive that the prior, and conitnued, lack of LB recruiting will haunt us in the future.

In that group are several folks who for some time have continually denigrated SOS and other coaches on a wide range of topics. Their posts are always sour and sarcastic. I've put several of them on my ignore list because they're so unpleasant to read. I can't understand people who are so negative.
I think there are a few, very few, that are bigger fans of some former coaches than they are of the Gamecocks. It's most noticable in football and basketball.
Sure, we have issues that need to be addressed. Not many teams I know of don't. We need to allow people that have been here less than one year reasonable time to correct an issue that is actually 4/5 years in the making.
Agreed. I have come to realize it is usually those that start threads like this who are probably so obsessed with USC sports (and consequently get so upset if anyone takes a contrarian or "negative" opinion to theirs) that they feel for some reason they have to take to task those of us that may be slightly frustrated with one aspect (in this case our lack of recruiting linebackers) of our athletic department.
In their defense, they make the board fun. Quite enjoyable to see how easily upset they get.
