Elliott "Small" Fry
They love him.
They're rooting for him.
Per usual, he represented himself, his family, and all of us with as much pride, dignity and humility as anyone ever has.
First off, both Van Pelt and Golic told him that forget the rules of objectivity, they're both rooting for him hard and they know he'll be back.
They asked if he ever had any doubt about coming back. He said he certainly did. That in the days after the injury he didn't want to talk to anyone. He was thinking about getting his degree and what kind of job to get. But his family, his coaches and his friends really picked him up.
Then they asked him about how the entire SEC and the country reached out and he said that it was amazing how many calls and cards he got from all over the country.
Now, he's just working hard in Florida to get healthy and get ready. Talked about his nutrition regimen he's on...even went a little NASCAR dropping names of the facilities and products he's using:)
Talked about getting a call from the "305" and it being Willis McGahee who told him it's doable. It's all in your head.
They asked him about how hard is it to trust that you're back and just go play because the doctors can tell you you're healthy but you have to put on the pads and believe them. Marcus just said that once he's back on the field he won't think about it. He'll just run behind his pads and do what he's always done.
They asked him where he thinks he'll get drafted (my favorite line in the interview)...Marcus said, "All it takes is for one team to believe in me." Loved that one.
They asked him about Clowney and he said that they guy is a freak and that once he hits his ceiling it'll be scary.
Van Pelt closed by saying, again, that ESPN can fine him or put him in timeout but that he's pulling for Marcus, keep doing what you're doing and stay blessed.
Lattimore=class and grace personified.
He's in Florida. Training hard. Best shape ever. Trusts his team behind him. Will not be scared to put on pads and do what he knows......RUN!
Just a great young man. So humble and has amazing faith. !
well said - i listened and he's such a class act. It's so bittersweet to me to think that on one hand he'll always be a Gamecock (my favorite ever) and on the other, we'll never see him play in the Brice again. Seems it went by all too quick.
Another impressive interview. Lattimore is one special person.

When all is said and done ML will go down as the greatest Gamecock ever!
Thanks a million!
Thanks for the recap.
haha, glad to hear/read that it somewhat saddens you as much as it does me. i really hate the fact that it's already over - like a kid at the end of recess.....sigh
