I'm not your wife chief.
BTW the other former player with the two guys under scrutiny doest have that NAME. I've been around him post-game several times and he is as gentle as a lamb. His story concurred with theirs. If you have ever been drunk and witnessed an incident, I imaagine you may have a memory that can vary at times. As I read the article again it seemed to me the Defense Attorney should have prepared the witness for that change of stories. Maybe he did.
BEWARE THE DOWNVOTE!!!!!!!
Hey, Scar. I can't find anything about the Fighting Lindsey twins being involved. Was one of the Lindsey's driving the truck that Simms was in? What in the heck were the fighting Lindsey twins riding around with a Bama fan trying to fight USC fans for?
The Bama fan was 285 lbs. The USC fan was 168 Lbs. Seems like a fair fight. Bama fans are the most arrogant bunch of pricks in the world. God, I hate Bama.
Ally will beat the crap out of Uga.
You abuse animals, and yet you call others out. Wow. WTH is wrong with you?
No way you can beat me, Scar. I got down voted the other day for writing that I really hoped Wes's buddy found his lost dog. If I gave a pee about down votes, I would be upset.
The lindsey's might have been there but they had nothing to do with what happened. The guy that got killed was at fault. I knew him personally
You can't see! I can't see! All that matters is can the f*&%ing horse see! That's a raid!
Who abuses animals what the hell are you babbling about?
Seriously? He didn't say anything about forming a lynch mob and dragging anyone out of court. He just voiced an opinion based upon the reports of the prosecution's evidence and what we know of the Lindsay's history. And while I have not been there to assess the credibility of the witnesses, I find it meaningful that the only people giving Simms' account are his buddies, while one of his own friends (the young lady that was in the car with him) testified against him. As was already noted, the other prosecution witnesses were not involved in the altercation and have no apparent reason to lie.
Have to agree with ABC.
I roomed with Football Players and probably most of my friends were athletes.
These are competitive , tough people yet mostly friendly good guys who put up with little crap.
Frankly i wish we had more like the Lindseys and more recently,Swearinger.
I gotta still say the account is pretty confusing. Where did the third player (Mike who agreed with the Defense witnesses)) come from and also the Lindseys were neither personally involved in the punches but I guess you could say they were "flipped" as well. Where did the prosecution witness come from and were they current friends at the time....may be my age and maybe a more complete report would explain but seems to me the State report is confusing.
So a 285 lb. dude deciding he is going to get out of his truck and play traffic cop rather than waiting another vehicle or two for someone to let them out is toughness, not putting up with any crap etc. and that is a positive trait? He was an idiot for getting out of his truck. The 168 lb. kid that died shouldn't have gotten out either, obviously. We've all been in heavy traffic after games and been ticked when someone is a jerk and doesn't alternate with letting cars out in to traffic. Most of us thank God don't let it escalate in to a situation where the potential for something this stupid and tragic can happen. I am sure he didn't intend for it to happen, that is why the charge is involuntary manslaughter.
No offense but you're wrong. Those two were exactly the kind of player this program no longer tolerates. Neither of them exhausted their eligibility one was booted the other flunked out. You really want players to be in constant academic trouble, get DUIs and get in very public fights in Five Points?
Swearinger is different than the Lindseys. Trust me. I was a huge Lindsey fan, but Swearinger would never get in a bar fight, unless somebody walked up and punched him. Swearinger is a LOT different off the field than on it.
Agreed. That is far from my definition of tough. Simms, which is his name, is not tough at all. Bully would be a more appropriate term. After a game, fans are going to talk trash, and even taunt other fans. You have to be tough enough to not let that bother you. I know a LOT of tough guys, and they never, ever do stuff like that.
Looks like Don needs to put a leash around his Little puppy
I was in school the same time as the Lindsey's and everything Scarcock is saying bout them is true. When they walked into a bar, usually with Sorenson and Blake Mitchell (Blake never did anything ad was actually pretty nice guy) people knew to leave. It was like their sole purpose in leaving the house was to fight someone.
How they fit in with this story, no idea. I don't live there anymore but I wouldn't be surprised if they instigated the whole thing. And they'd be with a Bama fan because they're from Mobile.
I don't believe you know many athletes. Most fights occur because some nut thinks he is tough or assume he can pick on an athlete because they can't get into trouble. How many of you can tolerate being continually harassed without responding.
On a couple of above posters. Our current player doesnt start stuff but neither did and do the Lindsays. Evey incident you can bring up except the current story involves a bar and excessive boozeI..... the second part of that is booze and that honestly is enjoyed to varying degrees by 95% of those who actually support Gamecock Football by going to the games. The wealthiest and most high-profile families of the state send their kids to Carolina and Clemson to do the same stuff they did in their fraternities....THAT is where much of the excessive drinking takes place and not in the general population of tailgates (not being critical of the frats or their families but that's just the way it is). Speaking of Gameday I also recall while they were here that their parents were the favorite tailgate and condo guests around...now you call them rednecks but they were among the top guests of (mostly) high-rollers at the time
