Please tell me why Darius Hammond who plays RB for Strom Thurmond is not being recruited???? He is now a finalist for Mr. Football in the state and is just electric with the ball. For those who don't know him check out his stats. I know others may be just as good out of state but he is much better than Sally who we signed last year. Nothing aganist Sally just saying.
I mean, it's pretty much WAG method here - bc we're in great shape with a guy like Williams, who we're likely pretty dang high on, as well as Smith.
And I'm usually agreeing w/r/t in-state recruiting.
Still no reason we are not looking at him. I have inside scoop that he would love to here from his favorite team (USC) we have to get the best players instate!! This is why we are were we are now!
I am not sure how he projects in college but he and his brother are unreal high school players.
Know nothing about Hammond specifically. But 99 times out of 100, great instate players with no offers have no hope of qualifying. Happens every year.
His brother defiantly is not a college QB maybe a slot wr, but Darius is defiantly a college rb for some school.

honestly, I've never even heard of him. I'm just guessing. Like I said, I usually lean towards in-state kids unless you're really stealing a kid from out-of-state. I'd rather take a flyer on a kid like this than a kid like Dallas from another state.
I have listened to Strom Thurmond H.S, football over radio every Friday this season. I agree that this young man is an incredible athlete & would be a asset for some college team, but what C&L said would be my best guess as well. Very unfortunate, but happens far too many times with many of these In-state kids.
Jauveer and Darius are cousins and not brothers. Jauveer probably will be a DB at the next level. Darius is electric with the ball. Best at ST since Jakar Hamilton. I would offer him a scholarship as a kick returner even if nothing else.
You beat me to it. They are cousins. Also, it has nothing to do with grades, as he is doing fine academically. Is he better than Salley? Maybe, but we don't know what Salley can do yet. I know Salley was pretty good himself in HS. Darius hurt his knee last year and missed most of the season so there could some concern with that. I think, after he shows out in the Shrine Bowl, a D1 school will offer him.
Salley had absolutely ridiculous stats, and is HUGE, I mean he is a grown man. I know nothing about this kid from ST, but to say he is better than Salley, who is statistically one of the best RB's to ever play in SC, is a bold statement.
Ally will beat the crap out of Uga.
As I said nothing against Sally think he has huge upside. I saw Sally play several times as well as them play against one another last year and jmo I think Hammond has more skills. Also Sally played his entire career in single A which in there divison not a lot of great teams. Again I think Sally is a very gifted RB. Just wanted someone with inside info to help me understand why Hammond is not getting any D1 attention??
