If we stand any chance getting him out of Alabama, it will surely be because not only our football coaches, players, and fans have expressed interest, but because our track coach is in on him, too. I don't know much about track, but surely we have a better program than Alabama's.
As much as I would love to have this kid my mind tells me no way this Legacy is leaving Alabama. But with a 18 year old kid we have come to find out anything is possible.
I commend our coaches for trying. He's certainly not going to leave Alabama unless we give him good reasons to do so.
Spurrier...I appreciate him plenty
I'm of the opinion that there is nothing we can do to get this kid. Literally nothing. Find someone else to recruit. JMO.
I believe we would stand a better chance of collectively buying a Powerball ticket from inside the state of Alabama and winning The Lotto.
Who knows. Maybe Saban will have second thoughts about whether he fits in their system. Gotta be there in case something like that happens.
Yeah and I'm the Easter bunny.
There is definitely a chance. His older brother went to Arkansas (now at UAB, but that is another story). His mother is the track coach at UAB. His Dad, while a fondly thought of Alum, has stated he will support him where ever he wishes to go.
While it is likely he goes to Bama, I just don't see this being a slam dunk for them either.
Oh yeah, I almost forgot one huge key. Whammy and Bobby were teammates at Bama.
This could be an incredible class. Although, it may be unlikely, to be in his top two, and the number one of so many other great players..I never thought I'd see the day.
I think we'd be more successful recruiting all those 4* GA DB's w/ Mangus, ward & Grady Brown. A lot of them are interested but maybe have UF & UGA at the top. Both those schools signed a ton of DB's last cycle ( UF signed 5 elite db's) & we will have both starting CB's leaving. I feel like we can get 1-2 of these guys to go w/ smalls if we make them priorities & put Brown & Ward on them.
- Wesley Green
- DJ Smith
- Cortez McDowell
- Grant Haley
- Nick Ruffin
- Quincy Wilson
- Dominique Brown
- Miles Autry
- Ronnie Clark ( alabama)
* You could add 5* DC CB Jalen Tabor as well.
& of course Smalls. I notice a lot of people think DB is a huge need & it is a need but we RS a lot of good omes last yr & should RS all the DB's we bring in this yr. We do need at least 2 elite level DB's this class IMO. An Elder or Gilmore type. I think if we can sure up Smalls we should be able to grab at least 1 of these guys if not 2.

if he visits and is a track guy ,he will take one look at out track facilities and "sprint" back to Alabama. It 's amazing how Coach Frye gets the results he does with the facilities we have.
So we've established that this guy's going to Bama, but its in our best interest to recruit him actively because he may influence other prospects to come here because he mentions us in newspaper articles? Doubt it.
I am not really concerned whether or not we recruit this guy hard. Our coaches have done a good job in the past of identifying those players we have a chance with and going after them. One thing to keep in mind is that many of these kids follow others and keep up with where they are visiting, who are their top teams etc.. Continuing to recruit him is not going to hurt us in anyway.
