I was at my son's baseball tournament all weekend and had to miss the game. I can't bring myself to watch the recording either.
I was touched Sunday to see many players at the baseball tournament had written "21" on their arms or uniforms. I can't remember a football player ever holding such a special place in the hearts and minds of so many.
don't watch it. its bad. I was like "no NO NO NO!" as soon as I saw it...wife and I walked outside away from the TV.
I was at game and just held my hand over my mouth in awe for a good 2 minutes straight. I watched it when I got home not to see the injury, just the hurt/love from his team/friends. Watching nick jones care for his friend, and miles crying on the field just lets you know the effect this young man has on people. I hate this for him, but it happened for a reason. He will learn that one day.

I thank goodness I was at WB so I didn't have to see the play up close or a replay. I have deleted it from my DVR as well as the SOS show for yesterday. I am even not watching ESPN for a couple days to be sure I miss it.
I did however just put a handwritten get well card in the mail to ML. I wish I could be in Columbia tonight for his birthday "celebration". If there is a young man deserving of all this love and caring it is #21. Here's to him being all he wants to be and can be for the rest of his life.
Skip that part of recording. I was at game and watched it on replay to reassure myself that the defensive player was just trying to tackle and not injure. I came away convinced he was not targeting Marcus. If Marcus was an easier tackle, then this might not have happened, but as everyone can attest the first person to engage Marcus does not usually bring him down alone. The linebacker was engaged but was beginning to slip down Marcus's body as do many first tacklers, the DB came up and was trying to take Marcus's feet from under him, but made contact at the knee at the same instant Marcus planted his foot to power himself through the first tackle. The result was something that will turn just about anyone's stomach to watch. I will not watch it again. And the first replays on the newscasts showed the entire video, I've had to turn away. They have since started cutting the moments after the hit and while still bad, it is not gruesome like the full replay is. If you want to see the injury, it ranks right up there with the Joe Theisman type of video. The movement of the leg is very unnatural and could make your stomach react violently....
