I think ND has a more than legitimate shot at beating Bama straight up. Couple that with a 10 point spread and it seems like a no brainer. Dont get me wrong, I've hated ND since I was a boy...just not sold on Alabama blowing out the Irish.
Then again, I thought LSU -5 was a no brainer and lost my ass on NYE...
A month to prepare and I take Saban all day vs a young QB especially. ND, in all reality, should have lost to Pitt, Stanford and So Cal, IMO. Bama is clearly the better team and Bama has reason to be 'up' for this game. Bama ALL day.
To me, LSU wasn't up for the Peach Bowl and CU literally turned it into their National Championship Game.
If we're talking straight up, Bama. I don't think ND matches up well with Bama. Bama is going to be physical and run right at them and I don't think they can stop it for 4 quarters. It took the almost a half to get the running game going against UGA and they ran for over 300 yards.
Now if we're talking point spread....I might take ND and the points. Just feels like a 24-20 kind of game.

If you want the ultimate, you've got to be willing to pay the ultimate price. It's not tragic to die doing what you love.
Ally will beat the crap out of Uga.
I disagree on the match up. I think ND matches up well against AL. Stanford is a running team and they, for all intents and purposes, stuffed them. I think the key to the game is the QB play. If EV for ND plays well it could be interesting. I do like Bama in this game, though.

I thought Stanford outplayed ND and should have beaten them. Stanford is Bama ultra lite but there are similarities in style, I agree. ND has some beef up front but I think that's their problem. They're style, especially on defense, will force them to try and "out Bama" Bama. Never a good idea. I think Bama wins a fairly close one.
I despise ND, but I saw them play several times and they're legit.
NDs schedule was aweful this year they struggled against some bad teams and the refs helped them out tremendously in Norman. Ive been doing this a while and there is a reason the spread is 10. I think golson will struggle and make some crucial mistakes to blow this thing wide open. Ill be shocked if irish score much but as we have seen so far with god aweful officiating those boys can keep a game close. There were several hits out of bounds against oregon last night that didnt get called and then of course the worst call in the history of football in our game. 42-10 bama
24-16 fighting Irish, and I am not a fan of the Irish but when you tell a team they have no chance of winning for over a month and a half it will have them playing at another level. JMHO
Stanford is good. ND has been tested and has found way to win. Bama didn't always do that. Should be interesting.
ND has had Bama's number, 5-1 all-time. They have had a magica year, could be a team of destiny. They have a thing about winning a Natty in year three of a coaches regime.
Saban is undefeated in Natty games. Bama is more talented. Unlike ND, they have players used to playing for all the marbles. Recent SEC mystique in natty games.
Best OL in college ball(Tide) vs what some say as best front 7(Domers)
Saban is 50-0 when rushing for 140. ND is one of the best against the run.

Gotta root for Bama since they are SEC, but Bama winning 3 of 4 will not only keep their cupboard loaded, it will only make them better as more top recruits will know if they want a title they should go to Bama.
But....I really don't want to see ND win a title...period.
Gotta root for Bama.
Bama is experienced in title games, ND is not. If nerves get the best of them, and it usually does for teams who haven't been in such high profile games, then Bama's experience will win in the end.
Personally, the only way I think ND wins is because of turnovers, or purposely bad officiating.
But what do I know, I didn't think LSU could lose either. They should have been able to show up, yawn, turn over 3 times and even take a nap and still beat clemson. Looks like they turned over 4 times though.

Bama is gonna win the game
ND will sell out to stop the Bama running game. Sd be plenty of play action leading to deeper balls. Irish have an avg secondary at best. And their pass defense scheme is predicated on the safeties playing back. When the safeties start coming up to help the run, ND will give up the deep ball. If they don't bring the safeties closer, Bama will pound them with the run.
Left to right: Reed and Blondie,
ND with the upset. They have the mojo going this year. Always found a way to win and they have a great front 7. Besides I'm sick of Alabama and the rednecklly arrogant fans.
Heard that Bama had a players only meeting two days ago citing lack of intensity. Could it be staying in the heart of the Miami nightlife has the boys distracted? Very unSaban-like as you'd think he'd have his guys away from all the distractions like Kelly has.
I guess we'll know early on...
I will put money on it, ND doens't find the end zone unless turnover sets them up easily. I expect Bama to completely stifle their offense, but I will say, ND will size up well when they are on D. Like someone else said earlier too, Month to Prepare=Saban almost impossible to beat. Not to mention, Stanford got the screw job of the century against ND. ND didn't score and Stanford out played them. Go Cardinal

"Never look down on anyone unless you're helping them up."
This part is not true...TAMU has a more talented OL than Bama...
TAMU has indeed come on of late and is formidable up front, but from top to bottom Bama's OL is widely considered the best in the land. Johnny Football would've had 2000 yds rushing behind that line.
