Hey gang. Since it is a slow week (other than Clemson Fans whining) can you recommend a tablet. I am trying to stay away from IPads. Need to print and hop online via WiFi. Any help will be appreciated. Oh i would like to be able to use Google docs with no problems.

My wife has the android tablet and she loves it. She paid like 200 for it.
Go with the Nexus 7 from Google. Get the 32gb for 249. I have the 16gb. I had a 10 inch tablet before but sold it and got this. Best purchase ever especially for the money.
Fomerly known as Garnet&BlackAttack.
I am in the market myself. I like the cellular option on the mini
They're releasing a 3G version soon. Not sure when though as I just use mine with wifi or tether off of my 4G galaxy
Also the nexus 10 will be out within a week. Has higher resolution screen than apples retina display and it's a full 10 inch tablet. Coming from a 10 inch, I actually think the 7 is better for long browsing, gaming and typing. Just feels better than the larger, heavier tablets imo. Plus with the nexus line you get software updates straight from Google, so it's always up to date.
I think they carry them in best buy and staples if you want to see the size in person.
I love my 32gb Nexus 7..Not sure if they still offer it but they did give $25 credit for the Android Store for some Apps if you bought it straight from them.

Think that's over. I ordered straight from the Google play store also. Best piece of tech for your money. Especially if you use Gmail, chrome browser syncs across pc, phone, tablet.
I just came home with the 32Gig about two hours ago. Love it! Got great reviews from PC Magazine. Writer did the same, quit using the 10 inch in favor of the 7
The new Windows 8 tablet "Surface" looks like a killer piece. Really like the full size usb and the snap in cover that doubles as a keyboard. Should be fairly user friendly for people that already use windows.
7 inch is way more comfortable imo. Android 4.2 is on it's way soon. Some pretty cool changes in store. Download SwiftKey 3 for tablets. Better than the stock keyboard!
This. I love my new iPad. Only non-Apple thing I would think about getting would be a phone, the S3. Other than that, IPad for days.

Good thread yall...almost makes me want a 7
since I dont use the internet on my I phone.....I do have portable internet with Verizon tho
Check out the Galaxy Note 10.1 I think you will like it.
I'm sitting on the edge ready to jump for one of those. Walmart is supposed to have them in stock on Monday, I think.

You won't regret it!
Just got an ipad and love it.
I may be bugging you and others for some tips on good apps, etc.
Nexus 7 by far as of right now.
If you can afford/choose to spend the money, get the iPad. There are other decent options if you cannot or do not choose to spend that amount of money.
Apple fans will say the Ipad, fans of Google will give you tons of opinions. I have had a few different ones and right now the two I use the most without question are
Galaxy Note 10.1
Asus Infinity TF700
I use one or the other daily. I actually have become more slanted to the S Pen and it's functionality so the Note is my favorite of the two.
also considering a tablet but one thing that hasn't been addressed:
what is everyone's battery life like? (long distance flying...)
looking at ipad, nexus, galaxy note primarily...leaning towards the android options due to liking that phone system better...but considering ipad also because I can switch (work paid for) phones here in a few months anyway...
Can anyone help me with a tablet for a 6 year old? My wife and I have an ipad that we like but we're not going to buy one that expensive for a 6 year old. The wife has downloaded a bunch of school related games on it that he plays all the time so we're thinking about getting him one for Christmas. Can anyone recommend anything in the $100 to $150 range?
