Gives me a GREAT reason to not watch the game tonight!
But, I will...
I have a feeling he will have prepared differently this time compared to his embarrassment vs. UCLA two years ago.
I will take him over Garciaparra.
Really? You'd think we'd get Kyle Peterson instead for once.
Harold Reynolds was the best announcer the CWS ever had. Wish they would bring him back.
Let me guess....the Arkansas pitcher will be soooooo kinetic.
Another reason I am glad to be in Omaha.
I watched the Florida game replay on ESPN3 and didn't think Nomar was bad at all. At least he talked about college players and tried to do his homework.
Orel's best moment was saying Cooper wasn't the kind if kid that would get drafted when he was ALREADY drafted. Brilliance
I hope so. Hopefully, he will be aware of the embarrassment two years ago. My guess is that he was and is totally unaware of how pro-UCLA he came across in 2010.
If I recall correctly, Duck basically assaulted him at the hotel after game 1 and he conceded they had prepped for the Bruins' staff almost exclusively.
Orel was probably getting a crash course on how awesome Arkansas baseball is.
Hopefully we'll get some "real" hits for him tonight.
Like I said a couple of weeks ago, the announcers always talk up the other team and we win. I am fine with this formula.
Our memory serves us both well.

**** I'm not an insider, I just live here ****
I didn't think Nomar was terrible. Kyle Peterson is the man and really enjoy listening to him. Robin Ventura was pretty horrible last year, thank goodness the White Sox hired him away.
The same Peterson that picked Stanford to win the National Championship during the NCAA selection show. I will pass.

He may have picked Stanford to win it all, but if I'm not mistaken he played for them. At least he's non-biased when the games are playing. And he's knowledgable and doesn't sound like an arrogant ass like Orel. I'd love to have Harold Reynolds or Kyle Peterson. Nomar isn't that bad, he's just not that good either. You can tell he's relatively new at it.
You can't see! I can't see! All that matters is can the f*&%ing horse see! That's a raid!
He is atleast knowledgeable about the college game. I dont get why ESPN runs these past major leaguers out there to call games, who havent laid eyes on any of these teams before.
I hope Orel tells some awesome stories about his playing days
This. Harold was definitely the best ESPN has had in the booth.
I still enjoy him on MLB Network. ESPN washed their hands of him though. He won't be back there.
Harold and Isaiah Thomas should open up there on network together.
What's wrong with Nomar - thought he did a nice job the other nite!
and ready to do orel surgery on the hogs
if you dont think he knows anything about us, what makes you think he will know anything about the hawgs?
his relative ignorance might tip our way
Nomar wasn’t bad. He just didn’t add much color and was pretty soft spoken on his analogies. Don Sutton or Robert George "Bob" Uecker would be much better. :-)
Like Nomar. Like Peterson.
Orel...not so much.
