I stated it before that when you oversign one position it effects other position groups and now that is it clear that is LB. I know we don't have one receiver signed this year but we we had more than we needed at WR for several years. Several guys have accumulated lots of pine time on the bench and others have transferred or graduated early. Lots of good kids can walk-on at WR but I haven't seen any walk-ons ever getting big minutes at LB. I really think Quinn Smith or Demario Jefferey should have a redhirted this year so we would have one Senior LB next year to help all the newbies as Ced Cooper could have played some minutes this year instead of just playing special teams. Now Ced's knee is in doubt and except for Larenz Bryant, our LB recruitment at the moment is a trainwreck. LB's are also key to special teams return and especially coverage teams so where that will be is a big question mark too.
WR signing has nothing to do with our LB numbers. It has to do with missing on 2011 kids such as Edward Muldrow. Angelo Whatley, and Mason Harris tho he still has a chance to prove us wrong.
I see that someone is reaching deep in the "Bucket of Blame"...
Some of these rationalizations are starting to border on conspiracy theories.
Ally will beat the crap out of Uga.
All three of those are serious misses.
Muldrow couldn't have been 195 soaking wet.
Whatley had a serious criminal background........that our coaches weren't aware of.
Harris is 5 foot nothing 120 pounds and is at DE right now. Won't ever play a meaningful snap, IMO.
BS - Ellis did a lousy job of stocking the shelves for his position, has nothing to do wiht WR recruiting. He selected poorly and landed less.
You never have a clue about what you're talking about. You're blaming a guy that was one of the best on our staff at his job. Not to mention he was one of the best closers in recruiting and was instrumental in landing some of the biggest recruits in the history of our program. But yeah I guess you're right, it was his fault.
Harris is 6'2-6'3 and will def see some time. I was impressed with his quickness at practice this year.
We never turned away a quality LB to sign a WR. One has nothing to do with the other. Sorry.
Odd theory since people are still upset about Q Davis.
Hey HS fan, sorry but it was his position and the talent their this year was very average and he left the cupboard bare. What parts of that are not true?
