He is a good receiver. We offered. He didn't want to come to USC. I repeat: He didn't want to come to USC. I wish the young man well. It is time to move on. Everyone needs to get over him.

**** I'm not an insider, I just live here ****
Why don't we resume this debate on September 1, 2013?
Lets look at this a different way. If Davis had come to USC:
-He would go to a bowl.
-He would have 1/2 the losses he has now.
-He wouldn't have losses to Duke, Wake, and Louisville.
-He would have played in front of twice as many people.
-He would have been on CBS twice, ESPN 4 times, and ESPN 2 once as opposed to 3 ESPNU games and 3 ACC network.
-He would be playing for a good football team.
And, he likely would have had fewer catches and receiving yards. On the other hand, Bruce or Ace would likely have his kind of stats or better if they were playing against consistently pathetic EZZ Ds every week. I would expect that Shaq Roland would have equal or better #s too if he played on an EZZ team, other than possibly Clemsux.
Bottom line: QD did notwant to join the Gamecock Nation despite numerous attempts by our staff to bring him on. He constantly was looking for more offers from programs like Bama, GA and UF, and had to settle for UNC.
I'm not going to say Davis isn't any good. He is a good player. Is he more talented than Ace, Byrd,or Bruce? Is he more talented than Busta, Justice or Jerrell? Nope.
Davis is the second or third best receiver on the field for UNC. Reps, for better or for worse help move young players along rapidly. It is proven fact that the more reps you get the better you become. Read Outliers if you want more.
Davis, good player. You have to want it. He didn't want it at Carolina. Plain and simple. I don't know why we are lamenting a player that has nearly played an entire season for another team. If we are going to do it for a player of his level (keep in mind I don't know what that is yet) then we should do it for all of them. Here I'll start so you can see how ridiculous this is.
Oh my god I can't believe Peter Boulware and Michael Boulware went to FSU....Oh my god, think about how great we could have been, oh my lanta it would have been great.
Oh whoa is us Carlos Dunlap, I don't know how we will ever manage without having him on our list of alums...I just can't even bring myself to imagine...we could have been so much better
Courtney Brown....whaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa! I can't even stand anymore, I just have to lay down.
That is how silly it sounds. We are about to win another 10-11 games, not in 2-3 years but in 1 year. It may take Davis 2. I want players that want to be here,
34-17, 4-3, 7-1, 29-7, 34-13 ALL STOP!!! It's a GREAT TIME TO BE A GAMECOCK! Back 2 Back Natty's! DOMINATION By GAMECOCK NATION!
Ally will beat the crap out of Uga.
