As of right now, I'm not confident in our ability to win against UF for these 2 reasons:
1. Injuries to interior DLine - Surratt, Quarles, and Jerideau are all injured and could miss the game.....no matter what, they will be hampered. We got exposed up the middle against LSU and UF is certainly going to run it right at us all game long. Our schedule is brutal and the teams we play are simply going to expose our weaknesses.
2. Running game - We have 3 issues in my opinion - A. The elite defenses like UF have enough speed to mitigate Shaw. B. Our coaches are simply not calling good running plays/formations. We need to run with Connor Shaw under center (it doesn't have to always be in the I formation either) The other major issue is that we have to attack the edges more.....teams already know we are going to run right up the middle. C. Our oline has not shown an ability to physically whip the man in front of them.
If we were healthier, I think we win, but our weaknesses line up with UF's strengths as things stand today. Plus, we haven't proven to be effective on the road and the swamp is going to be another challenging environment.
Old Carolina mentality
I just similar things in another thread.
We are still old Carolina-last Sat proved that
You're a clown.
UF is nothing like LSU. They won't trot out a future 270lb NFL FB and 3 bruiser RB's. yea they beat LSU but under different circumstances.
It's going to be a great game and I am looking forward to it. I am also looking for the team to play with more emotion and focus.. I think two out of the three DL will be ready to go and Law will rotate accordingly. We need to score some damn points.. Like I said looking forward to Saturday.

Well we just have to mix in the pass more. We can't just hand it to Marcus 3 times in a row, run up the middle and expect to get a first down. Spurrier is just going to have to get more creative in ways to move the ball. As far as the defense goes nothing we can do about injuries; someone else is just going to have to step up and the linebackers are going to have to step up their game and have a game like they did against Georgia.
Amen brother! Some people amaze me that they call themselves Gamecock fans! Go hang out in the upstate I u want to have that mentality!
He's not a Gamecock fan. He's what Duck would call a giraffe. He gets off on getting us worked up.
Ally will beat the crap out of Uga.
All reasonable points. I have to think though, that the OL and DL will play better than they did last Saturday. If they do, we have a good chance to win. If they don't our chances aren't good.
Spurrier...I appreciate him plenty

not sure why you have downvotes. You raise some very valid concerns. You're just expressing your thoughts that should create discussion. Instead, you get some silly replies with no substance.
I share your concerns. And here is what I looked at. I looked at LSU vrs Fla and SC vrs LSU. Fla faced that same bruising running game of LSU and totally stuffed them. LSU had ZERO success running against Fla. Fla faced that same strong and fast DL of LSU that we faced....and racked up over 200 yards rushing.
Now, I do think we matchup better with Fla than we did LSU. I also believe the home field advantage of LSU was an incredible obstacle. I've been to both Death Valley and the Swamp.
Both are fantastic venues.....but nothing compares to LSU. The other thing....we needed a wakeup call. Say what you want....but I think we once again struggled to handle success.
We let our guard down....didn't play physical. And as bad as we played, we only lost by 2 points. That should be a serious wakeup call.
Florida's defense is fast and will create problems getting the edge with their linebackers just like LSU did for both Shaw and Lattimore. SOS will absolutely have to pound their interior d line.

The Lsu game was not as close as the score indicated.
If you only looked at the stats, it would appear that we lost 31-10, or something like that.
We need to be a lot more physical, with a better mental frame pre-game.
We need to have more than 23 minutes of offense. We need 32 to be successful. We also need to score first and get them off the field......take some of the crowd OUT of the game.
I trust our coaches and they will have them ready, IMO.
This game is basically for the Eastern Division Title, folks.

He would be a non issue if I was an owner of this board because I would kick the dumb ass off. No need for morons like him and bateman to be allowed to post when their sole purpose is just to stir things up.
