Yes, he has the right to go early.
Yes, he doesn't owe the fans or the University anything.
Yes, it's his decision and he has to do what he feels best.
Yes, I wish him all the best and hope he becomes an all Pro and makes millions.
Yes, it's a fair and legitimate discussion whether this is a smart decision. Not, to come to a conclusion to bash the guy, but a legit debate.
Yes, I have the right to state that I think it's a stupid decision.
Yep, debating whether or not he made a mistake is not 'bashing' the guy.
However, lol, I do not like how he went about it. He got all our hopes up and then flipped (conveniently timed when the coaches were on the road).
I do wish him well, certainly.
Went about it about the same way Sidney Rice did.
Agree completely. I just feel like this was poor form and would have respected it a lot more if he would have done it first rather than mislead us. The way a player leaves really affects the way he is thought of after. See Emanuel Cook for me....
Agree with the OP. Don't agree with those criticizing the "way he went about it".
Maybe he just changed his mind? Maybe he needed to tell everyone he was staying so he could get some peace and privacy and make the best decision for himself? Regardless, I sincerely doubt he intentionally lied about it. He probably thought it was the right decision at the time and then started having second thoughts. Even his parents seemed shocked -- so I doubt this was planned.
Completely different than Cook, who completely stopped going to class and was declared ineligible.
I hope that one day fans and atheltes in general get a bit more savvy about communication via social media. What some of our fans did to Rolin was shameful and I'm sure some will make ridiculous statements at Ace this time as well. I'm honestly not sure that what anyone puts out there on Twitter, Instagram, Facebook in a fleeting moment should be viewed as a permanent statement of who they are and what they intend to do. Especially when viewed by those who have never once met the person in real life. But that's the world we live in today.
