Don't you think moving to the B1G would offset any advantage NCS gained by moving to the SEC? B1G currently makes more $$$.
It would push them ahead football wise easily.
"Those who live in the past are cowards and losers" -- Mike Ditka
That is why UNC would come to the SEC. They would do it because they know State would take it if they turn it down
The big thing is to be successful, you would think they need more exposure for recruiting in the south than the north. That is why the SEC will be the big advantage
Whichever NC school joined the SEC would stomp the other one in recruiting. Doesn't matter if the other one goes B1G, Big 12, or stays in an emasculated ACC.

Yes I do but only if the ACC completely implodes and UNC has no choice to leave. With regards to the UNC BOG UNC would have to take the lead about leaving the ACC for another conference (ie., the B1G). If they did that would allow NC State to have a green light to the SEC. The BOG would never allow NC State to have an advantage over the flagship university of the state (ie., leave on their own).
Also keep in mind that B1G Commish Delany is a former TarHole basketball player and graduate of UNC.

Over the last 5/6 months have heard a couple or three interviews on various XM shows - one in particular was on Finebaum talking w/ a very credible guest from ATL, can't recall the name - this guy's company deals w/ all the major conferences. His take was that UVA & GT would wind up in the BIG w/ their tilt towards academics, NCSU & VT in SEC - within a week of that Packer made a comment along the lines of Swofford as commish/former UNC AD would do everything possible to keep UNC & Duke "joined at the hip" in the ACC.
UNC & VT would bring the most from a "brand" point of view - UNC sells so much gear nationwide it's scary. VT has been down the last 3/4 years but Beamer has built a respectable program - be objective here folks - been to bowl games 20 years in a row w/ 3 BCS appearances and an NC game, granted they only have one win there over Cincy but there aren't too many schools EVER that put together 20 bowl games in a row.

Boss, that is one informative post
Always good to hear from you my friend.
Guy on the NCSU board said the BOG is 62% UNC folks yet UNC only comprises 11% of the overall student population in the entire school system.
